I saw him perform one time, maybe 10 years ago in Greensboro, NC. There was quite a long Q&A with the audience after the show. He spoke about learning complex classical pieces as a very small child (3?), perfecting one measure each day, no more. Just little tasks, adding to the study of the work. He was able to do something that seems impossible for a small child, with the help of his father breaking it down for him into a few new notes each day. Very inspiring. But really, this is how we learn everything important, like reading, writing, walking, speaking. Probably so much more we can all do but for the appearance of the mighty mountain. Little children don't know any better.
