Help with creating (and proofreading) transcripts of SOTT Talk Radio shows

That sounds interesting, do you have software that slows it down? What would I look for and could I install it to a transformer book? I only know just enough about computers to be able to navigate the database/upload etc but I would be interested in trying out something new if it made me more efficient at transcribing.

I've never used this before, but from afew reviews and the description it seems it could be of use.

The file will need to be downloaded first though by the looks of it, to then put onto the programme. You then have access to afew actions, speed up, pause, slow down, play etc. Via your F keys on the keyboard for easy control

I'm going to give it a download when I'm home to see how it functions :)

If anyone is using Express Scribe, the F keys work like a foot pedal

F4= Stop
F7= Back up a little (you can set how far in Options)
F9=Play - at whatever speed you set on the bar slider

There's a few more, but those are the ones I use the most. It's really nice to be able to incorporate the controllers with your keystrokes.

As my first proofread was recommended, im wondering how one chooses what PR1 to do. On the transop site, the list contains all the files done and to-do. Do you just get a head and snatch one thats free and pots on the yahoo notifying when you do it?

The best place to ask this kind of questions is in the Yahoo group.

To answer your question, have a look at the database in the yahoo group which is called "SOTT Talk Radio - Table for the transcript of the shows that are not published yet on SOTT", and you will quickly see what shows need to be proofread.

As an example, shows #89, and 97 are waiting for the PR1.

The link was working when I posted it. The article seems to be gone in the "twilight zone".
