I don't know if it is going to be transcribed, but there are some great quotes there.

"This is the president’s 12th Q&A session, with the previous year’s lasting a record four hours and 48 minutes."

A marathon!

Yep, the session is still going (for more than 3 hours now), and at the moment Putin answered a question by Edward Snowden about the "spying on citizens" and if Russia collects info in the same way US does. His answer was that there is an info gathering going on, but not in the same massive and uncontrollable way as in US, and within lawful restrictions, etc.

There was also a funny question from one citizen about Alaska (Ice Crimea ) if Russia is having any plans about it. Putin replied with humor and said something like, that Russia doesn't need Alaska, since it already has plenty of land with the same cold/frozen weather.

All in all, I hope that entire Q&A will be transcribed, since there are many interesting questions and answers. It also gives an opportunity to see what kind of problems Russian people face, and it's only a tip of an iceberg.

Edward Snowden, Ice Crimea.. Things just seem to go back to where they belong ;)

And the session was great! Especially the last answer.

Vladimir Putin is holding his annual televised question and answer session right now...:

I've tried the link several times - only to get an error - 404. Not surprising, I check several news sites and none even mention the Q&A Session with Putin, so a transcription would be very much appreciated.

It is a guided missile destroyer, but I'd be very surprised if it wasn't using surveillance capabilities to some extent. I'd say most US Navy ships have an intel/cryptography capability and may even have personnel on the ship for signal intelligence gathering like the destroyer (DD) I was on at one point, but I wouldn't really call it an electronic surveillance ship.

Thanks Mr Bear for clarification !

Reuter's just posted a news story but it's short.

Try this one: http://voiceofrussia.com/2014_04_17/Russian-President-Vladimir-Putin-to-begin-annual-broadcast-Q-A-session-LIVE-UPDATES-7958/.

It's not the transcript, but it's the most detailed info I could find in English as of yet. It's better to start reading from the bottom and go upwards.

Putin having time of his life?

Vladimir Putin says that current NATO General Secretary Anders Fogh Rasmussen secretly recorded and leaked a private conversation with him, when he was the head of the Danish government.

He explained to me that he recorded the conversation for posterity. I am flattered, of course, but he should have warned me, or at least asked permission to make the content public.

How can you trust someone after an incident like that?

I suspect this to be a move by other forces to further "hitlerize" Putin.

Seems like a lot of hot air, grabbed at by Kerry and goons (http://www.sott.net/article/277571-Relax-Ukraine-is-not-ordering-its-Jews-to-register). Maybe the CIA made some suggestions...

A very perverted move, but predictable. And it's much more likely that a "holocaust 2.0", as calls it in the article, happens in Israel itself.

Associated Press broke away yesterday's Putin call-in show in the course of question by Irina Khakamada (who ran against Putin for presidency in 2004) where she said that the U.S. is offering $1 billion in aid to Ukraine so May 25 presidential elections can be held.

Here is the video:

In connection with the Kiev coup there was one official, Natalya Poklonskaya _http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natalia_Poklonskaya, who left her job in protest over the lack of order. She went to Crimea where she had previously worked and was appointed the job as prosecutor general.

Thanks to the Japanese she has become some kind of a phenomenon and gained more attention from game disigners who intend to incorporate a character build on hers

Crimea's attorney Natalya Poklonskaya to fight crimes in Prime World game
Popular Russian game from Prime World of Nival added a new character inspired by the Crimean Prosecutor Natalia Poklonskaya. This was reported by the official blog of the project. There is no established link between the new character named 'Obvinyashka' (that could be literally translated as "Little Appellor") and the General Attorney of Crimea Natalya Poklonskaya, which has become a popular meme in mid-March.

However, blog commentators immediately identified her as the source of inspiration for developers in her typical appearance, the pursuit of justice and communication.

"Meanwhile, people in the taverns were whispering about the new Maiden of Justice in Praia. The fact that her pretty face, innocent smile and sonorous voice is just a mask hiding her cold blood, frozen heart full of ice. Her shield is the Law, her arms are Justice. Criminals are hiding from the mere mention of her name, and law-abiding citizens of Praia sing like she is the salvation from all their troubles" says the description of the game character Obvinyashki.

There are also plans to include a similar character in ithe game Grand Theft Auto.

And there is another news related to her:

Crimean prosecutor music clip hits 3.7 mn views in three days

The internet fame of Crimea’s chief prosecutor, Natalya Poklonskaya, rages on. A patchy music clip made from Poklonskaya’s videos has scored millions of views on YouTube, with a celebrity opposition figure calling the attorney a "sex symbol of Russia."

Footage of Poklonskaya's emotional speech on the coup d’état and “chaos” in Ukraine has been making rounds on the internet since March, but this is the first time it has been set to music.

The chorus of the music mix, compiled by an anonymous internet DJ known only by his alias 'Enjoykin,' could certainly be described as simplistic.

In a combination of the official speech and several informal interviews, Poklonskaya appears to be singing: “Power. Blood. Nyash-myash. Blood. Power. Crimea is ours,” (which rhymes in Russian).

https://youtu.be/TBKN7_vx2xo?feature=player_detailpage

The “nyash-myash” bit was apparently taken out from Poklonskaya’s own reaction to her becoming an anime star and receiving a Russian nickname of Nyasha – to which she replied that she would prefer to be perceived as a prosecutor and will not allow any “nyash” or “myash” while at her post.

On a more serious note, the rest of the clip offers cuts from Poklonskaya's solemn statement which said that “the anti-constitutional mayhem has led to a massive bloodshed...we have no moral right to step aside from our people...our task is to get the work of the prosecutor’s office back on track in this country.”

It also features some original Japanese-style animation of Poklonskaya fighting monsters and sending a toy boat of 'friendship' to a girl who is possibly representing Ukraine.

[...]

It is believed that Poklonskaya took the job after four of her male colleagues refused to take the risk days ahead of the March 16 Crimean referendum on independence from Ukraine, in which 96.77 percent of voters chose to join Russia. The Black Sea republic was then accepted into the Russian Federation on March 21.

The courageous blonde has said that she will “prove” she is worthy of the position, adding that she is not afraid of persecution by Kiev. Poklonskaya is wanted by the Security Service of Ukraine on charges of “violent overthrow of constitutional order and takeover of government power.”
How funny that they can accuse her of something that the new Kiev powers have done more than anyone else and was the reason she resigned in the first place! In any case, it may turn out that the publicity she has been granted, will be her protection.

And in a larger context, the ideals of courage and justice that Natalya Poklonskaya is credited with resonates reasonbly well with the new trend http://www.sott.net/article/277670-Russia-The-last-keeper-of-European-culture-Christian-values-and-truly-European-civilisation and with a bit of luck in the world: http://www.sott.net/article/277671-Putin-and-Russia-The-thing-which-everybody-seems-to-be-missing

On the site of U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa they posted:

McCain, US Senators visit NATO air base
U.S. Senator John McCain speaks with Maj. Gen. Edvardas Mažeikis, Lithuanian air force commander, at Šiauliai Air Base, Lithuania, April 16, 2014. McCain and U.S. Senators John Hoeven and John Barrasso visited the Baltic Air Policing mission as part of a visit to the greater Baltic region, which also includes meetings with government officials in Estonia, Latvia, and Moldova.
I was wondering, if it would be fair to say, based on the evidence of other articles, which can be found by a simple search on SOTT that John McCain is something like a U. S. State Secretary of Offence.

In an interview with Rick Rozoff from 'Center for Research on Globalization' on Press TV, he says about two minutes into the interview: _http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXtDw3dMCrE that it is alleged by a presidential candidate from the party of Janukovich, the Party of Regions, Oleg Sarov, that an entire floor in the state security building in Kiev is occupied by American security personel and that this floor is off-limits to Ukrainian security personel.

Just a note on how the Western propaganda machine seems to be getting desperate and still hopes to turn public opinion around against Russia:

One of the main German news websites, faz.net, has deactivated its upvote system for comments a couple days ago, after all of the most popular comments were in direct contradiction to the pushed agenda. Plus, the upvotes were deactivated only in articles dealing with the Ukraine-crisis.

This reminds me of that report from a private website shortly after 9/11 which had a poll on who people thought caused the 9/11 attacks. The owners of the website reported that they were hacked in a way they never saw before and that the hackers added a huge amount of votes to the "Bin Laden did 9/11" option.

It seems like there are critical windows in which public opinion needs to be shaped after which it becomes sort of self-sustaining and self-censoring, as can be seen in the case of 9/11.
