Three months after Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 was brought down over Ukraine, there are still no definitive answers about what caused the tragedy. Civil conflict in the area prevented international experts from conducting a full and thorough investigation. The wreckage should have been collected and scrupulously re-assembled to identify all the damage, but this standard investigative procedure was never carried out. Until that’s done, evidence can only be gleaned from pictures of the debris, the flight recorders (black boxes) and eye-witnesses testimonies. This may be enough to help build a picture of what really happened to the aircraft, whether a rocket fired from the ground or a military jet fired on the doomed plane.

Nothing really new, but found the eye witnesses who saw it happen particularly interesting especially reports of a jet.

A Dutch journalist has published a book on MH17 and it's investigation.

“MH17: The Cover-up Deal”: Dutch journalist publishes revealing book

“On July 17, 2014 a Boeing 777 of Malaysia Airlines (flight MH17) crashed over eastern Ukraine. All 298 passengers were killed, including 193 Dutch. The Netherlands were given charge of the investigation into the cause of the disaster, but signed a cover-up deal with Kiev, and thus became a pawn in an international political game."

In “MH17: The Cover-up Deal”, Dutch author Joost Niemöller connects the dots. The most striking facts are listed and the main theories – from all camps – are evaluated. The author observes worrying developments, and outlines a world where major interests stand in the way of finding out the truth, and where a deal is more important than forensic material.”

The foregoing is the translated summary of the Dutch book “MH17: De doofpotdeal” [MH17: The Cover-up Deal] by Dutch journalist and author Joost Niemöller (1957), which was released on October 28. So far, only one of the major Dutch newspapers paid attention to it. De Volkskrant offered a platform for the author on its Opinion page. Mr Niemöller writes [translated]:

Three months after the attack, the discontent and frustration regarding MH17 in the Netherlands seems to increase more and more. The anger is aimed at the government, but the government appears to be unable to give satisfying answers about the perpetrator of the crash. This was first manifested when Dutch FM Timmermans [on October 8] spoke about the oxygen cap that one of the MH17 victims was wearing. Does the Dutch government know much more than it is willing to reveal?

Also a promise had been made by the government. No stone should be left unturned, Dutch PM Rutte said on the day after the crash. But we still have not seen the other side of those stones. The government now responds to parliamentary questions about the facts behind the attack by saying: just wait for the results of the research. This might mean a very long time of waiting. In a year, the Research Council will publish a report which won’t say anything about the perpetrator, because that does not fit with the intent of the Council. The Public Prosecutor only mentioned that it has started the research and that they are looking for further information on a rocket. But there is no attention for real, structural, research problem created by this government.

The Netherlands, being the country that leads the international investigation, has organized the research of both the Public Prosecutor and the Research Council in a way that makes objective investigation impossible in advance. This arises out of the course of events. Ukraine was the first party to do the research. This is subject to international agreements made by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). After several days of secret talks with Dutch FM Timmermans in Kiev, the research was ‘delegated’ to the Netherlands, by means of a series of appointments. The agreements that the Research Council made with Kiev initially were not released, but after all, incidentally posted on the website of the Council. Please note that this happened at the same time when the Dutch government reported to the House of Representatives that those agreements should not be made public yet.

Among other things those agreements include that Ukraine and the Netherlands are committed to a complete exchange of information, that they can force each other to secrecy, and that Ukrainian researchers should participate in the Dutch research. As for the agreements for the Public Prosecutor, these became public thanks to the loose-tongued Ukrainian Prosecutor General Yuri Boychenko, who at a press conference in Kiev on August 10 stated that the countries that have signed the deal – except the Netherlands and Ukraine also Belgium, Australia and possibly also Malaysia – have veto power over the conduct of the research. So if Kiev does not like certain results, the actual research will be cancelled. The Dutch government is silent about this deal with the Public Prosecutor. (Etc.)

A video about MH17 taken down shortly after being released by the BBC: _http://vimeo.com/111325917 In it two women mention two fighter jets and that there were two explosions in the air, after that there is the official version, which the journalist tests and find lacking. Hello from “Odnako” (analytical program “However” – RB)! At the disposal of Channel One was sensational picture, presumably made by a foreign satellite spy in the last seconds of flight Malaysian Boeing over Ukraine. On the eve of the most important meetings of world leaders at the summit of G20 in Australia, the story of the death of the passengers of this flight is more than relevant. The frame speaks in favor of the version, which in the West is almost never heard. It is known that at the summit in Brisbane, Australian Prime Minister Abbott is threatening to ask our President in the rigid form a question about Malaysian Boeing. We will try to facilitate his task. Back in August, the Russian Union of Engineers issued its report on the possible causes of the crash, which received fairly widespread in the media and the Internet. Experts conducted a detailed analysis of all available information from all sources, produced technical calculations and elaborated version of causes of death “Boeing”. The conclusion of the experts was that the only technically possible version was the destruction of the Malaysian airliner with a missile and gun armament another plane. Pay attention to one point in the report is the absence of any credible evidence of the start of the missiles “ground-to-air”. Start “Buk” is accompanied by a fiery cloud, a deafening roar that can be heard within a radius of up to 10 km, and inversion followed which is clearly observed in the sky for up to 10 minutes. In short, there was most likely no “Buk”, no start from the ground. In the presence of district disaster dozens of professional observers from all sides and thousands unprofessional, no one has seen or recorded. While the aircraft was seen and recorded. And it was definitely not Russian planes. The arguments of the experts were heard on the Internet, the report was translated into English and German. First Vice-President of the Russian Union of Engineers Ivan Andrievsky said:

When we began to receive a large amount of information, among which was a different material, engineering calculations, and ultimately on Nov 12, we received this. “I fully agree with the results of your analysis of the causes of the crash of the Boeing,” says the man who presented himself as a graduate of MIT, Aviaexport with twenty years of experience, George Bilt. “The Boeing was hit by a pursuing fighter jet. First, the crew fired from a cannon, then the cab was struck by an air-to-air missile, then the right engine and right wing were struck by a missile with thermal homing system.” The photo which is clearly evident in the launch of the rocket from under the left wing fighter exactly at the cockpit, was attached to the email. On the terrain, weather conditions, the dimensions of the aircraft shot fully consistent with the circumstances of the accident. We saw a satellite image taken with not a very high orbit. And such images are usually made for general intelligence air and ground space. In accordance with the coordinates specified in the picture, we can assume that the picture was taken by a UKUSA satellite. We undertook a detailed analysis of this picture and no signs of tampering were found.

All versions should be considered, including the proverbial “Buk”. The person who sent the picture, showing how the MiG-29 kills passenger “Boeing”, whoever he was, of course, professional. In order to forge this requires even more professionalism than to access such information. Lord, you have these pictures! Or others! Show them, finally! Hands on the table! Because at the moment there is every reason to believe that the committed state crimes by those who destroyed the plane deliberately and cynically. And those who consciously and cynically hides it with exhaustive information. Goodbye from “Odnako”!

Oh yes indeed, it was only a matter of time, and what good timing with Abbott aka :pinocchio:.

Thanks for the English transcript PoB.

Found this blog with tweets claiming to debunk the photo: _http://www.mfs-theothernews.com/2014/11/video-russian-channel-1-says-it.html

Summary: logo looks to be in wrong place on plane, jet fighter doesn't have outline of Su-25, trajectory of plane seems wrong. Could use some looking into.

Update from that blog:

Update: Colonel Cassad reports that the still photograph first appeared on the Web on Oct 15, here (allow time for the autotranslator to work through the page). I’ve inserted the high-resolution copy of the photo (7406×5000) direct from that post. You can see Donetsk airport, to the west. The commentary says: “The image was obtained by mail from enthusiasts Russian Wikileaks, the source is not named. The time on the image corresponds to the time indicated in the data of objective control presented by the Ministry of Defense of Russia. According to the inscription, the international designations of time, the picture would be from the US satellite intelligence apparatus.”- RB

I think this is going to be debunked and perhaps used (if it is covered at all by Western press) as subtle 'evidence' that the missile from a Ukie jet angle is discredited, precisely because of bogus "evidence" such as this image. The first problem being that the data came from a US satellite.

I don't see RT carrying this story; if this was released by the Russians in time for the G20, I imagine they would use their international media for it.

Possible, but the logo seems to be in the right place:

Ok, from this site: _http://foxtrotalpha.jalopnik.com/the-satellite-image-of-a-ukrainian-fighter-shooting-dow-1658910062

First off, where exactly did this come from? TV1 says it came from a 'foreign intelligence satellite," how convenient. How is the resolution so high for objects far above the ground but so low for objects on the ground? Also, these image appears to be taken some 50km from where MH17 actually went down, and 50km is a long ways to travel after being shattered by a missile, as reports state. If the aircraft continued to actually fly for a relevant period of time, over some 50km of countryside before breaking up, it is likely that many more witnesses would have seen the jet's final, firey descent and described it as such.
