Sarkozy in Lascaux, the return (of the fool):
13th september: on Sunday, President Sarkozy visited with his court the TRUE Lascaux cave, the one with the fresques… (which is forbidden to the public, but we're in 2010's France, where privileges have yet to be abolished)
Sarkozy was in a philosophical and lyrical mood, as these declarations show:
“It feels like entering a cathedral. When you realize that 18000 years ago, men were able to express their emotions so well, well it shook us deeply, Carla and I, to have the privilege to visit this cave.”
For the lyrical part:
“Between the universal and the land, there's Lascaux".
And the cultural part:
“The brave
Neanderthal perfectly understood that, here, the climate was
milder than everywhere else, that there was game, the weather was nice, and life was pleasant” (the temperature was between - 10 and - 30°C in the area, 18000 years ago)
