Were the colosseums used for what we thought? Electrical power plants?

It’s interesting- but there is Roman documentation of gladiator combat, including mosaics depicting gladiators- so I am not convinced gladiators “never existed”-and what electronic devices would have been powered by these coliseums? I would think that if the Romans had such devices some record would be left? I am no historian, nor knowledgeable regarding the subject discussed, merely curious as to how the research was done?
