https://youtu.be/VCE3W54AgSEI found it on _https://ladaray.wordpress.com/russia/contemporary/, who has a selection of contemporary Russian music.

I think Palinurus is probably correct on the special effects used nowadays. It is nevertheless a beautiful and romanic melody. It reminds me of an old movie that was popular in 1965, Doctor Zhivago.

The music was composed by Henry Mancini so it is just probably his interpretation of Russian music.

What a coincidence? Laura's Theme

Some know the reality of this all to well, the Traffic Jam (avoid if possible):

James Taylor - Traffic Jam (live in Birmingham, July 9, 2011)

https://youtu.be/lsR5-r2ksSc

"Traffic Jam"

Damn this traffic jam, how I hate to be late, it hurts my motor to go so slow.
Damn this traffic jam, time I get home my supper'll be cold, damn this traffic jam.

Well I left my job about 5 o'clock, it took fifteen minutes go three blocks,
Just in time to stand in line with a freeway looking like a parking lot.
Damn this traffic jam, how I hate to be late, it hurts my motor to go so slow.
Damn this traffic jam, time I get home my supper'll be cold, damn this traffic jam.

Now I almost had a heart attack, looking in my rear view mirror,
I saw myself the next car back, looking in the rear view mirror,
about to have a heart attack, I said,
damn this traffic jam, how I hate to be late, it hurts my motor to go so slow.
Damn this traffic jam, time I get home my supper'll be cold, damn this traffic jam.

Now when I die I don't want no coffin, I thought about it all too often.
Just strap me in behind the wheel and bury me with my automobile.
Damn this traffic jam, how I hate to be late, it hurts my motor to go so slow.
Damn this traffic jam, time I get home my supper'll be cold, damn this traffic jam. Damn.

Now I used to think that I was cool running around on fossil fuel,
Until I saw what I was doing was driving down the road to ruin.

Speak Life Lyrics

I pray thee, I pray thee
Once again
I wonder to be surrounded by ones with such talent...ya know

Speak life
Live a humble and meek life
Ordinary day of the week life
Try to search and seek life

Way up
Keep your head up and stay up
Even when you sore and pain love
Never given up til its game up
Keep your aim up

And focus
Don't concentrate to what's bogus
Never set law far upon us
Handle your biz like grown ups, Own up

It's amazing
The way Jah fire keeps blazing
That's why I constantly praise him
For some of them it's a phase
So they're gazing

On the street lights
Dem they catch up in street fights
Cause unpretending they street wise
And put to end to a brief life
I feel Like...

It's a mystery
How we can keep repeating our history
Making the same mistakes as our ancestry
Seem like all of life lessons missed with
It's risky

So give praises
One day you may find your oasis
Rise up to the challenge you're faced with
Be a pool and creative
You'll make it

Its basics (Wo-Oooah)
People been though in it for ages (Wo-Oooah)
Many other cultures and places (Wo-Oooah)
On the regular basis (Wo-Oooah)
They're so many cases

Lets face it (mann)
Way too much time has been wasted (mann)
Building military bases
Fighting our war with no basis

Life is sacred (Wo-Oooah)
*And every baby born naked (Wo-Oooah)
*Some of em nah like guatala ris big (Wo-Oooah)
And don't care what they making (Wo-Oooah-oh)
They can't take it

So speak life (mann)
All dis darkness don't feel right (mann)

After listening only once I'm inclined to say it's a mixture of both. Most of those high notes are really sung (either live on the spot or in play-back) but the utmost high seem to be got taken over by some instrument (probably electric guitar) and then further enhanced via computer or synthesizer.

The voice type used is called falsetto.

A prime example would be Ivan Rebroff who sported four and a halve octave in range, allegedly.

I think the soprano range technically ends at C6. Well, he hits a note at the highest fret on my electric guitar which is a C# and then zooms up another step with way too much power and "cut/edge" to be real. There are octave devices that mimic the sound played and boost it up the scale an octave (or TWO). He has to be using something like that. Some are foot-switchable and work in real-time. His tone up in that range is definitely unnatural and synthesized.

Thank you BHelmet for providing this extra information.

I was aware of synthesizers but didn't know anything about how octave devices are used for this specific up-scaling and amplifying of these very high notes.

Nice to have learned about them now... ;)
