Some missing posts after the forum came back online

I notice so far two threads with missing posts and thought I'd start a topic on it in case others also notice and want to post about other missing posts.

The first thread I noticed that had missing posts is http://cassiopaea.org/forum/index.php/topic,25611.0.html in the private forum. There are a couple of missing posts on page 2. One is my post I think came after herondancer's http://cassiopaea.org/forum/index.php/topic,25611.msg330814.html#msg330814 Then there was a discussion between Aragorn and Gawan about the "prezi" application used -- two posts I think (last I saw before the forum going down) -- that are also missing.

The other thread is "The Wave Book 8: Debugging the Universe available for pre-order now!" There were posts somewhere after this post http://cassiopaea.org/forum/index.php/topic,26155.msg330751.html#msg330751 by Prodigal Son and, I think, Approaching Infinity that are also missing -- it was about the order not having arrived, etc. And I'm pretty sure there was another post by loreta in reply to Approaching Infinity's post above.

One other thing I noticed is that in both of those threads when I went to check new posts, it started several posts back that I'd already read -- no big deal, that's how I noticed that there were missing posts since the last time I read them. Just letting the techies know in case something can be done to get the missing posts back.

Just noting that the entire thread I recently started titled "Yahoo Answers" in the What's on your Mind section is completely gone.

Added: Just noticed my post in the John Carter thread in movies is also gone. http://cassiopaea.org/forum/index.php/topic,27160.0.html

I think there's more back-up stuff to restore. It may be a few more hours before everything is complete.

Ok, thanks for all the hard work. I just came back to this thread to say that I just noticed that the recent posts before the new ones after the forum coming back online pick up at March 19. The forum went down on March 20, and there were two threads with new recent posts when it stopped loading for me on the afternoon of the 20th. I'm pretty sure the John Carter thread in Movies section was one of them and I can't seem to remember the other. So I guess they'll be back up when the restoring process is finished. Just mentioning that there are other missing items from March 20.

Last post (with my answer) from Ark in "Ark - where are you headed?" thread is missing.
Here is what has been written by Ark, in case it disappeared for good :

The possible esoteric meaning of the fundamental groupoid.

Sometimes a scientist is inspired by a philosophy, and a philosopher is inspired by mysticism. I think that there is nothing wrong with such a state of affairs as long as different modes of thinking are clearly separated in the mind of a thinking person. With this in mind let us take an excursion leading us beyond the rigorous way of a scientist, and also beyond the inquisitive way of a philosopher. Let us visit the distant past, let us go back to the Orphic cosmogonies. According to Damascius (West, 1983) among the first-born gods (Protogenoi) there were two serpent deities: Khronos and Ananke. They were not corporal. Khronos was of a male character, Ananke (or Adrastea) of a female one, “her arms extended throughout the universe and touching its extremities.” Khronos stands for the static principle of “unaging time”, while Ananke represents the dynamic principle of “Inevitability” (or Compulsion, or Necessity).

The following quotation is from Damascios, a Neoplatonist who lived c. AD 500. […] (West, 1983)

"United with it was Ananke, being of the same nature, or Adrastea, incorporeal, her arms extended throughout the universe and touching its extremities. I think this stands for the third principle, occupying the place of essence, only he made it bisexual to symbolize the universal generative cause. And I assume that the theology in the Rhapsodies discarded the two first principles (together with the one before the two, that was left unspoken), and began from this third principle after the two, because this was the first that was expressible and acceptable to human ears. For this is the great Unaging Time that we found in it [sc. in the Rhapsodic Theogony], the father of Aither and Chaos. Indeed, in this theology too [sc. the Hieronyman], this Time, the serpent, has offspring, three in number: moist Aither (I quote), unbounded Chaos, and as a third, misty Darkness (Erebos) . . . Among these, he says, Time generated an egg this tradition too making it generated by Time, and born `among' these because it is from these that the third Intelligible triad is produced. What is this triad, then? The egg; the dyad of the two natures inside it (male and female), and the plurality of the various seeds between; and thirdly an incorporeal god with golden wings on his shoulders, bulls' heads growing upon his flanks, and on his head a monstrous serpent, presenting the appearance of all kinds of animal forms . "

Letting the mods take care of this... With thanks for having the forum back ! :)

It seems that what we have recovered may be all that can be recovered ... so hopefully ya'll will remember stuff and help us put it back together.

OK, I'm pretty sure, not 100% positive, but other missing posts are after this post in the following thread: http://cassiopaea.org/forum/index.php/topic,27124.msg330548.html#msg330548

This is the other one I think I remember was in recent posts when the forum stopped working. So there's at least some posts in there that I never got to read, but the last post above is from March 17. I'm pretty sure there was at least a response after that by webglider and then the ones I was never able to read. FWIW.

Maybe we can rebuild some of the missing posts as much as possible, at least anything important, I'm not sure. From what I remembered about the missing post from Prodigal Son and the replies in the Wave Book 8 thread I posted about earlier, it's not so important because Prodigal Son posted today that his book arrived, just as an example.

It seems the lost posts have been posted after the lun. 19/03/2012 05:00.

Regarding the rss I have been received, the following threads are concerned :

I'm going to repost hereafter the first message of the new threads, since the entire message is downloaded with the rss :)
I hope it can help...

For all the other messages I can help if asked too, but I don't have the authors.

Edit : I don't receive posts from the private part of the forum.

  • Man killed by police in Sydney. (New thread)

I saw this on the mainstream news last night, and again in the paper this morning. The police aren't talking, and nobody seems to know anything.

http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/8437012/man-shot-with-taser-dies-in-sydney

What is not mentioned in the article (but was in the TV news report) is that the man was unarmed, and the theft was a packet of biscuits.

The footage also showed large amounts of taser wire on the ground, which I can only assume more than one taser shot was used.

  • Dream - Laura as the keeper of the switch (New thread)

If when we reply to each other in the forum we create a sort of physic link between us, I guess it is happening something similar when you read a lot from an author. I have been re-reading the Cs material and Laura's books once more, intensively during the last weeks, refreshing the concepts, and tonight I had a dream that it is probably the result of this intense contact with your (Laura) writtings for so many hours a day.

In the dream we were in a sort of "mother ship", startrek-like, looking by the window at Earth. I was there with Laura and another friend of mine (not related to this, just possibly symbolising someone else also doing a similar job to Laura's, somewhere else). It was kind of a meeting prior our incarnation.

To my friend and Laura there was some instructions being given. He was to be the guardian of power source in his backyard, a power source to keep the planet "ongoing". Laura was to be the guardian and protector of a switch, that could trigger the Earth on and off.

Laura's work was tremendous, as she had to keep it "on" all the time.

That's all I can remember, and woke up with the feeling I'd share it to the forum, for what is worth it.

  • Careful computer (New thread)

Computer operating in the screen before the long working hours, the retina of the rhodopsin will be consumed, while rhodopsin from vitamin A synthesis.

Therefore, the computer operator should eat more carrots, cabbage, bean sprouts, tofu, red dates, oranges and milk, eggs, animal liver, lean meat and other foods to supplement vitamin A and protein of the human body.

Against the computer radiation is the most simple way is to drink 2-3 cups of green tea in the morning, eat an orange. Experts suggest that often the people who work at the computer, drink some green tea. Tea contains radiation material, a significant role in the protection of human hematopoietic function, can reduce the harm of computer radiation. The tea is rich in vitamin A, it is absorbed by the body can be quickly converted into vitamin A. Vitamin A not only the synthesis of rhodopsin, also make the eyes to see things more clearly in the dark light, and can prevent night blindness and dry eye.

  • Shootings in France - Mossad? (New thread with lot of responses, with subject already up here)

Last week three soldiers were gunned down in Montauban by a scooter riding shooter. Earlier, a soldier was gunned down in Toulouse, also by a scooter riding shooter. Forensics confirms the same gun was used in both incidents.

Just hours ago another scooter riding shooter opens fire on a jewish school in Toulouse, killing at least three, a father and his two children.
_http://www.globalnews.ca/several+killed+in+shooting+at+jewish+school+in+france/6442603224/story.html

It is an election year in France. Sarkozy was wobbly in the polls and unpopular among the voters. Suddenly and inexplicably his poll numbers improve in the media, putting him slightly ahead of Hollande and the shootings begin, all with the same MO. Its time for a tough-on-crime leader to step into the spotlight, eh?
Quote
President Nicolas Sarkozy accompanied by Richard Prasquier, the president of CRIF, the umbrella group representing Jewish organizations, were heading to the site of the private school, the president's office and CRIF said.

This has the unmistakable stench of false flag about it. I have a feeling that it won't be long before the media finger points at Islam.

  • Over 1,500 Record Highs This Week! (New thread)

Haven't noticed other posts regarding the latest heat wave throughout the US, sorry if I'm duplicating.

Here in WI, we're on track for a record breaking stretch of record breaking high temperatures. If today's forecast holds through Wednesday, we'll have a record breaking 7 day stretch of record breaking highs.

Specialty crop farmers are worried about freeze offs with early budding of fruit trees; local CSAs report bolting cool season crops a loss; maple syrup season (which should be just starting) is already, and abruptly, over due to consistent overnight lows in the 50's and 60's; mosquitos are out.
A Big Spike, Indeed!

Here's a TWC link with headline "Over 1,500 Record Highs This Week!"[last week]
http://www.weather.com/outlook/weather-news/news/articles/record-warmth-this-week_2012-03-11
This has been a week of incredibly warm weather across much of the country. Over 1,500 record high temperatures have been broken or tied the past seven days, and we're not done breaking records yet! Here's a quick roundup of the action so far:

Monday - According to the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC), 138 daily high temperature records were tied or broken primarily in the Northeast and Midwest. This includes records set in New York City (71), Boston, Mass. (71) and Albany, N.Y. (69) that were more than 100 years old!

Tuesday - 218 daily high temperature records tied or broken in the Central and Northeast U.S, according to NCDC. Included were Concord, N.H. (71), Omaha, Neb. (81), Minneapolis, Minn. (67) and Sioux Falls, S.D. (79).

Wednesday - 457 daily high temperature records tied or broken, including St. Louis, Mo. (86), Chicago (81), Milwaukee, Wis. (78) and Paducah, Ky. (82), just to name a few. Minneapolis, Minn. (73) set a new record high on Wednesday for the fourth time in five days! Stunningly, Traverse City, Mich. shattered their earliest 80-degree reading on record, by 13 days; the old record was March 27, 1945.

Thursday - A whopping 593 locations equaled or exceeded their record highs across the Rockies, Plains, Midwest, Southeast and Mid-Atlantic states. Chicago hit 81, the first instance of back-to-back 80s there in March on record. Madison, Wisc. tied its all-time March record of 82, breaking the March 15 record by 13 degrees. [Average March temp for Madison is 44 degrees F] Record highs also fell in Atlanta and Norfolk, Va.

Friday - Chicago hit 82, the first instance of three straight days in the 80s there in March on record. Not to mention, it's the earliest 82-degree reading on record, previously set on Mar. 27, 1945! Bismarck, N.D. set a new March all-time record high (82). The previous earliest-in-season occurrence of 82 degrees there was April 2, 1921. Their average high this time of year is around 40 degrees! It was also the warmest day so early in the season in Minneapolis, Minn. (79). You'd have to go back to Mar. 23, 1910 to find a day as warm so early in the season in the Twin Cities! Ft. Wayne, Ind. (78) had its third-straight record high, and the first time it had three straight days with at least a high of 78 degrees since Mar. 27-29, 1910!

More records are likely through the weekend and into next week. Below is a look at the record high temperature potential over the next two days.

Feels like summer here, very muggy this morning with a dew point of 61 degrees, humidity at 89%!
Very strange.

(had trouble finding the "what's the weather in your area" thread... maybe this should go there? )

  • Yahoo Answers (New thread)

Hi everyone

Lately I started participating in Yahoo Answers and I thought I'd open up a discussion about it.

I think that if people from this group were to participate in it, it could possibly be beneficial to a lot of 'regular' people out there.

For example, I read a few women asking about their abusive relationships and how they can't talk to anyone about it in their daily life so they were wondering why it was that their husband/boyfriend was being the way he was. So I suggested reading material to them such as Women Who Love Psychopaths or Women Who Run with Wolves. It started me thinking if more of us were out there promoting these kinds of books to people who are technically asking in their own way, it could be a very good tool.

But I also thought that perhaps it could be me wanting to feel important by answering these people program; so I decided to write about it on here and get all your opinions and maybe talk about how we can take advantage of this tool to promote knowledge of psychopathy, EE, diet, etc..

Some of the other things I noted about it:

Pros

- In some of the movies sections people describe a scene and ask what movie it's from. It's for me a fun little exercise that helps fire up the neurons and make you work your memory blocks.

- Helping suggest book titles to people that are asking about certain issues like the one I posted about above. A lot of people are asking questions about their relationships that could use info about psychopathy etc.. Or maybe even EE/meditation. There are also people asking about health/diet questions that could use some advice about paleo diet/gluten free info.

- Helps improve my writing/vocabulary because the more concise and appropriate your answer is, causes the asker to vote for your asnwer as "best answer" so your rankings go up in the program.

Con

There are definitely some weird people on there too and it can be a bit noisy at times. So it's good to take note of your own programs and make sure what you choose to participate in is not noise/a waste of time.

I basically thought it would be a good promoting tool and thought I'd bring it up here for a discussion.

  • The Secret History of the War on Cancer, by Devra Davis (New thread)

I began reading this book yesterday, after having it on my to-read list for many months. My impression of it so far is that it is an insightful investigation into certain aspects of the workings of "pathological science." The chapter I am reading currently deals with eugenics, and while I don't know exactly where the author is going with it, I am starting to see a pattern of increased scientific corruption that led to both sciene-related atrocities in WWII (and before), and the suppression of investigation into the causes of cancer.

While the author doesn't say it, I would say that "unseen forces" were hard at work, and that the period deserves greater attention. While we might tend to think about Hitler, these changes were happening all over the world.

Very interesting so far!

  • Lyme Disease Surge Predicted for Northeastern US: Due to Acorns and Mice, Not Mi (New thread)

Lyme Disease Surge Predicted for Northeastern US: Due to Acorns and Mice, Not Mild Winter
From ScienceDaily (Mar. 16, 2012)
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2012/03/120316094452.htm?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+sciencedaily+%28ScienceDaily%3A+Latest+Science+News%29
What do acorns have to do with illness? Acorn crops vary from year-to-year, with boom-and-bust cycles influencing the winter survival and breeding success of white-footed mice. These small mammals pack a one-two punch: they are preferred hosts for black-legged ticks and they are very effective at transmitting Borrelia burgdorferi, the bacterium that causes Lyme disease.

"We had a boom in acorns, followed by a boom in mice. And now, on the heels of one of the smallest acorn crops we've ever seen, the mouse population is crashing," Ostfeld explains. Adding, "This spring, there will be a lot of Borrelia burgdorferi-infected black-legged ticks in our forests looking for a blood meal. And instead of finding a white-footed mouse, they are going to find other mammals -- like us."

With the early arrival of Spring it would provide a great service to bring awareness to tick season and Lyme disease. (Tick season is considered from last frost to first frost... WI's last frost may be a month and a half earlier than usual...we'll see)

Yesterday, I attended a talk given by a local Naturopath ND who collaborates with a Lyme-literate MD, and was informed that studies recently completed at UW- Madison School of Medicine to determine whether the contentious diagnosis: "chronic lyme disease" is a valid diagnosis. Their results confirmed that the spirochete does indeed survive post antiobiotic therapy. Rats infected with borrealis borgdorferi were treated with antibiotics for 4 weeks, which is the standard therapy. The "cured" rats were then infested with sterile (uninfected) deer ticks. After ticks were engorged with the hosts' blood they were analyzed and were found to have been infected with the spirochete, B. borgdorferi. Many suspected this, and the doctors who realized this kept patients on long term antibiotic therapy but were being criticized by their peers, often threatened with losing their license. That's the good news that comes out of this, I guess. On the other hand, this raises the seriousness of protecting oneself against this infection since antibiotics aren't a "cure"; in addition, there are still many, many lyme-illiterate doctors even in areas considered "hot-spots"(don't even get me started....)

Knowledge protects, ignorance endangers...
this pathogen is called a very smart bug, "The Great Imitator", dynamic, adaptive and it has at least 10,000 years of evolution helping it persist (hm,...sounds like a psychopath-ogen).

A few links you might want to include in a comment section where folks can go to learn more about the ever-growing information coming out about lyme.(~shudder~):

(according to the ND, aldf.org and LDA are in the camp that doesn't accept "chronic lyme disease" as a valid diagnosis... yet.)

  • 3 children & teacher killed in shooting at a private Jewish school in Toulouse (New thread already up here)

I was just wondering if the chateau crew had more information being right at the location.

http://www.connexionfrance.com/Toulouse-Jewish-school-children-killed-gun-attack-13549-view-article.html

THREE children and a teacher have been killed and several others injured in a shooting at a private Jewish school in Toulouse.

Witnesses said a man on a scooter opened fire on parents and children outside the school as they gathered at 8.10, just as the school gates were opening. He chased the pupils into the school grounds before fleeing himself.

A male teacher and his two children, aged six and three, were killed along with another 10 year old pupil. A 17 year old pupil was also seriously injured in the attack.

It is the third fatal shooting in the past 10 days. A 30-year-old paratrooper was gunned down in a residential area of Toulouse just over a week ago, while two soldiers were killed and a third wounded as they used a cashpoint in Montauban (46km away) on Thursday.

President Nicolas Sarkozy has expressed his horror at the shooting at collège-Lycée Ozar Hatorah, and called for a minute's silence in all French schools tomorrow morning.

The school and other Jewish schools around France are now being guarded by police.

Sarkozy travelled immediately to the school with Education Minister Luc Chatel and the head of the CRIF, the Representative Council of Jewish Institutions in France. Interior Minister Claude Guéant and Socialist presidential challenger François Hollande are also expected this afternoon.

More than 50 police, including anti-terror specialists, are already in Toulouse for the investigations into the previous attacks and soldiers have been ordered not to wear uniforms outside barracks.

News magazine Le Point says that investigators are following a serious lead relating to neonazi soldiers in 2008.

  • The Hunger Games (New thread)

Do not know what I find more disturbing: The movie/books or the (teenage) craze about it.
Sounds pretty much where STS forces want us to be: In a postwar world fighting against each other for entertainment.

Here is a short wiki article:
An unspecified time before the current date, the face of the Earth changed and modern civilization was seemingly destroyed. It is unknown precisely what caused the "end of the world", but major landmasses changed shape as the sea level rose to unknown heights around the planet. Some time after the end of the world as we knew it, a nation was established in North America that would soon come to be known as Panem. It is unknown precisely when Panem was established and how long it has existed, though it is certain that Panem has been around for more than seventy-five years, and it's entirely possible for it to be at least a century or two old.

Panem eventually grew large enough that it was segmented into thirteen separate districts, each responsible for producing goods of a particular industry to serve the growing needs of the nation, and all operating under the auspices of Panem's oppressive Capitol. Its exact method of expansion is unknown; it is possible that some of the separate districts may have even once been smaller, separate nations that were eventually annexed by Panem.

The Dark Days

Approximately seventy-four years before the events of The Hunger Games trilogy, the various districts of Panem rebelled against the Capitol, primarily due to the oppresive fashion in which the Capitol government ruled over the districts. It is unknown how long the rebellion lasted or the exact number of casualties on either side (although the Capitol claims that for every dead Capitol citizen, two rebels died), but by the end of the conflict, the Capitol had quelled the rebellion, defeating twelve of the districts and obliterating the thirteenth entirely.

The Games

In the wake of the rebellion, the Capitol established the Hunger Games, an annual event in which twenty-four children between the ages of twelve and eighteen, one boy and one girl from each district, are chosen from a lottery and entered into a gladitorial competition where they must fight each other to the death until only one remains standing.

The event served two purposes. The first was to demonstrate the overwhelming power the Capitol had over the districts by taking their children by force and forcing them to slay each other in a no-rules competition. It was proof that the Capitol's control over its people was so inexorable and unstoppable that they could do something so sadistic as to force the children of their conquered foes to slay each other in a battle royale. The second purpose was purely for entertainment. The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in the same vein as a reality show, its entrants practically considered celebrities and the events themselves dramatized and glorified.

[...]

The Capitol

The Capitol is the biggest city in Panem and serves as the nation's central seat of government. It is located in an area formerly known as the Rocky Mountains and is surrounded by the thirteen outlying districts. The free residents of the Capitol are generally considered the wealthiest (and most decadent) of all Panem, and the city's prosperity is fueled by the industries and forced labor of the districts beyond. While it is a major territory, it is not considered one of the thirteen districts. The people are most known for their "creative" outfits, and crazy sense of fashion, even to the extent of dying the color of their own skin, or even having whiskers implanted, a thought that disgusts Katniss Everdeen. President Snow leads Panem, until there is rebellion and eventually, war.
[...]

The nation of Panem is separated into a total of thirteen nation-states known as districts, twelve of which are recognized as operational by the Capitol, and each being solely responsible for producing, procuring, or refining goods in a particular industry as dictated by the Capitol. All of the districts are subject to the unrelenting will of the authoritarian Capitol, and have no known influence concerning the national politics of Panem beyond their own individual territories.

The districts barely interact with each other, so each district generally has a unique culture unaffected by the other districts which strongly influenced by the goods it produces. Welfare levels vary significantly, and are often dependent on the goods it produces; some districts, such as 11 and 12, are far more impoverished than wealthier districts like 1,2, and 4, though apparently no district is nearly as wealthy as the Capitol itself.

Originally, there were thirteen districts in Panem. During the Dark Days, the 13th district was obliterated by the Capitol and is no longer recognized as operational. Each District provides something different to the Capitol; for example, District 12 provides coal and District 4 provides fishing.
thehungergames.wikia.com/wiki/Panem

Compared to this all the Vampire stuff seems to be pretty tame.

  • Esref Armagan a blind man who can paint (New thread)

Actually, i don't know where to post this. So please move it to the right place it needed.

This video is about a man from turkey who is since his birth, a blind person. First of all, it is astonishing that he can paint, but what is really incredible is his sense for perspective. He draws better than most people without him ever have seen anything. Watch and enjoy.

I have start to translate the post of Laura in the Life Without Bread thread, where she cite Dr Kruse who talk about leptin.

http://jackkruse.com/the-leptin-rx-faqs/

(voir The Leptin Reset Protocol)

[“no freaking way.”]

Hey, that's great that the missing posts/threads can be reconstructed from RSS, Heaalih! Maybe if everyone who subscribes to RSS for the forum, can pitch in and get the missing material back up.

I also notice that at least two Ana's posts were re-posted today: in the Session 4 March 2012 thread and the "Men are just happier" thread. I asked in the session transcript thread if she re-posted it. I'm starting to assume now that she manually re-posted the two posts that I had already read, but are posted with today's date stamp.

"What are "rolls"?" is missing a few posts, including Psalehesosts (I think) excerpt from Views from the Real World. I'm reconstructing my short post.

Sadly, I have to report two missing posts of mine.

One was in the Cryogenic Chamber Therapy thread just between the now pages 6 and 7. I answered a previous post which is also missing, but in this case I don't remember the original poster's name.

I only bookmark the URL's from my postings, not their contents; so I can't help you out retrieving them.

The other one was in the Translation job from French to English (video) thread. I answered a comment from voyageur which is also missing. No text available for the same reason.
