I saw this article on Sputnik, and remembered the C's stating, Japan Buckles in one of their prognostications. It just so happens it's was in the July 16 1994 one, the very first contact even.

The total number of powerful and minor earthquakes on the Japanese island of Kyushu has exceeded 600 since Thursday’s devastating quake, local media reported.

Total Number of Earthquakes in Japan Exceeds 600 in Just 5 Days
http://sputniknews.com/asia/20160419/1038234689/total-number-quakes-japan.html

On April 14, a magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck to the east of Kumamoto city (the capital of Kumamoto Prefecture) on Japan’s Kyushu Island, killing local residents and damaging infrastructure. It was followed by multiple aftershocks. The following day, the same area was hit by a 7.0-magnitude earthquake.

Most of the tremors were felt strongly in the Kumamoto and Oita prefectures, the national NHK broadcaster said.

The death toll in the natural disaster has risen to 44 and over 1,000 people sustained injuries in Kumamoto alone, the news outlet stated.

About 125,000 people in Kumamoto and more than 3,500 in Oita have been provided with shelter at city offices, schools and parking lots, it added.

Japan is a seismically active region. In March 2011, a 9.0-magnitude offshore earthquake triggered a 46-foot tsunami that hit Japan's Fukushima nuclear power, leading to the leakage of radioactive materials and the shutdown of the plant. The accident is considered to be the world's worst nuclear disaster since Chernobyl.

It could happen. This comment is interesting:

Japan should be entirely evacuated, in my opinion. Too dangerous, too many nuclear plants scattered all around the islands, and earthquakes like these are becoming the norm. Save the humble and gentle Japanese!! Stop the nuclear plants! Invest in renewable! Save this planet for God sake!

But it's not just about Japan, having so many nuclear plants around the world in this time is certainly not a very good idea. :/

One thing that caught my attention was how narrowly aligned the epicenters are for this relatively small island, as if the south eastern part wanted to detach itself.

Yes, the scary thought that the southern Island could split in two has been raised by some as I mentioned in this post yesterday http://cassiopaea.org/forum/index.php/topic,1512.msg644962.html#msg644962

This picture shows where the only operating Nuclear plant in Japan is, which is just a little south of where the earthquakes are taking place. The site of the active Sakurajima volcano is also shown:

Yes, one could say that Japan is starting to buckle and the Japanese better buckle up for what could be a very bumpy ride.

This thread should be merged with the earthquakes thread.

There was a little earthquake yesterday at El Hierro, Canarian Isles. (I think 4,2 is not bad at all). Sott has an article about it in Spanish:

http://es.sott.net/article/45554-El-Hierro-Islas-Canarias-sufre-un-terremoto-de-4-2-en-la-escala-Richter

Maybe this is the beginning of something bigger, or maybe not. We will see!

The tremor was felt in all the isle and they even say that the shelves moved.

4/20/2016 — Professionals raise concern of large Earthquake at the California / Nevada border

Professionals are holding a conference this week, and making public new research regarding the building threat of a large seismic event at the California / Nevada border.

______
This region is a location I have reported on at length, even as recent as yesterdays Earthquake forecast video.

I have made multiple posts on the topic of the California / Nevada border, and the building seismic unrest in the area.

See the multiple posts for yourself:

https://www.google.com/search?q=dutchsinse+california+nevada+border&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

My videos were met with full denial by professionals who took to my social media pages to disparage me over covering the earthquakes at the California Nevada border. Furthermore, these well credentialed individuals went on to say there was not any large earthquake threat at the CA / NV border.

A lead professor from a well known institution came to my page(s) to say the region was not earthquake prone, and told me I didn’t understand basic geology for raising concern about the earthquakes currently striking at multiple dormant volcanoes across this exact same CA/NV area.

Now we see that other professionals are concerned enough to do whole studies on the location, and talk about the location at their Geologist conferences being held this week.

Major earthquake overdue in California’s Eastern Sierra, study finds

“Scientists say the Sierra’s eastern front is long overdue for a large earthquake along the California-Nevada line, where a magnitude 7 event expected on average every 30 years hasn’t occurred in six decades.

Nevada Seismology Laboratory Director Graham Kent says the region’s earthquake “drought” is likely one of the sources of a public misconception that it is at a low risk of experiencing a serious earthquake.

He planned to discuss details about the latest research Tuesday during an Earthquake Economic Resiliency Forum ahead of the Seismological Society of America’s annual meeting, running Wednesday to Friday in Reno.

Kent said a magnitude 6 earthquake or larger typically strikes every 10 years or so along the Sierra Nevada frontal fault system running from south of Yosemite National Park to north of Reno and Lake Tahoe. There were seven magnitude 6.5 or larger in the region from 1915 to 1954, but none since, he said. The last magnitude 6 was 22 years ago in the Carson Valley south of Carson City.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency estimates a magnitude 6 quake could cause up to $1.9 billion in damage in the Reno-Sparks area and $590 million in the populated area of South Lake Tahoe, Kent said.

“Let’s take advantage of this extraordinary quiescent period in our earthquake history,” Kent said. “We have a great opportunity to bring experts together with our community — those who need to put plans in place not only for disaster response but, just importantly, a plan for quick economic recovery.”

The experts are gathering in Nevada days after powerful earthquakes killed hundreds of people in Ecuador (magnitude 7.8) and killed dozens and wounded thousands in Japan (magnitude 7.1). Scheduled speakers Tuesday include Dick McCarthy, executive director of the California Seismic Safety Commission, and Cory Lyman, director of the Salt Lake City Emergency Management’s “Fix the Bricks” program.”

The ring of fire appears active everywhere except in North America...this seems odd and/or ominous.

You can find the seismic monitor for the globe at:
http://ds.iris.edu/seismon/

And then the seismic monitor for North America here:
http://ds.iris.edu/seismon/zoom/index.phtml?rgn=N_America

I will read through the recent posts in this thread but wanted to ask if anyone knows if this (limited to no activity) is a precursor to something looming or an indication that this may be the calm before the storm.

Thanks to everyone involved in this forum and Laura and her team for the work & information sharing that is being done here.
