WORLDWIDE EARTHQUAKE REPORT MARCH 20_2024

Moderate levels of seismic activity occurred in the past 24 hours. The seismological service of Mexico reported an M5.0 earthquake in the State of Oaxaca. The closest larger town where the quake might have been felt is Juchitan de Zaragoza, a town with 75,000 inhabitants in Mexico, in 84 km distance south of the epicenter. USGS issued a Green alert for shaking-related fatalities and economic losses. No aftershocks have been recorded so far. The strongest-ever (since 1900) recorded quake in this area measured magnitude 8.0. It had occurred 96 years ago.

A strong magnitude 5.6 earthquake occurred in the South Atlantic Ocean near Visokoi Island, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands. The quake had a moderate depth of 118 km and was not felt or at least not reported so. Due to its remoteness and lack of infrastructure, there are no permanent population on the islands today. The strongest-ever (since 1900) recorded quake in this area measured M8.1. It had occurred 3 years ago earlier, on Aug 12, 2021

High levels of seismic activity occurred in the past 24 hours. A strong and shallow earthquake registered by the BMKG as M6.5 hit Java Sea, Indonesia. USGS and EMSC reported M6.4 at a depth of 8.5 km. USGS issued a Yellow (moderate) alert for shaking-related fatalities and economic losses. The closest larger town where the quake might have been felt is Paciran, a town with 27,000 inhabitants. This was also the strongest quake in this area in at least 10 years. The strongest-ever (since 1900) recorded quake in this area measured magnitude 6.7. It had occurred 32 years ago
Following today's earthquake, a mud and water overflow occurred at Bledug Cangkring (Baby Volcano), a mud volcano in Grobogan, Central Java, Indonesia. According to information from BPBD Grobogan Regency Emergency Section, the overflow has subsided.

WORLDWIDE EARTHQUAKE REPORT MARCH 23_2024

Very High levels of seismic activity occurred in the past 24 hours. A strong earthquake of magnitude 7.0 reported by BMKG and revised by USGS to magnitude 6.9 hit 93 km from Wewak, East Sepik Province, Papua New Guinea. The closest larger town where the quake might have been felt is Wewak, a town with 18,000 inhabitants in Papua New Guinea, in 93 km distance northeast of the epicenter. USGS issued a Green alert for shaking-related fatalities and economic losses. 3 aftershocks have been detected so far and the strongest was a M5.3. It is worth mentioning that this aftershock was only reported BMKG
Based on its magnitude, the fault that was active during the quake likely ruptured beneath a surface of approx. 1,000 km2 (=386 sqare miles) as a first-order estimate. The length of the rupture zone thus was probably around 55 km (34 mi). Volcanodiscovery
The strongest-ever (since 1900) recorded quake in this area measured magnitude 7.8. It had occurred 89 years ago.

Interesting to consider this in light of yesterday's events in Ukraine, Russia, and the recent controversies around the Duchess of Cambridge's health and Brigitte Macron. Human-Cosmic connection at work?
An earthquake in Tajikistan, with some of the suspects of the terrorist attack in Moscow reported as being from Tajikistan? What are the odds? 🤔

As above so below. We have seen in the last two days and especially today how solar activity remains at high levels as well as seismic activity. While this is happening on Earth and in the skies, humanity seems to be heading for a major political, economic and social upheaval.

Last week saw 2 M6.0 earthquakes; one in PNG and the other in the North Atlantic Ridge Region.

WORLDWIDE EARTHQUAKE REPORT MARCH 24_2024

Moderate levels of seismic activity occurred in the past 24 hours. A series of M5+ earthquakes hit Southeast Asia in response to the M6.9 earthquake in Papua New Guinea. This movement of energy was expected and may in fact originate a significant event in the region. The Recent quakes worldwide map shows the distribution of the earthquakes on both sides of the epicenter which was located in Ambunti P.N.G.

As can be seen the energy has moved as far as Afghanistan on one side and New Zealand on the other, northward to the Kuril Islands and eastward the first wave of energy as far as Chile.
We will see the responses to this M6.9 earthquake, mainly towards the regions of Japan, Indonesia, Vanuatu-Fiji-Tonga and Kermadec Islands and in America, mainly Chile.

According to analyst Jesús Ramos, an M6+ and in the worst case M7.5 event could be expected for the Banda Sea region, Flores Sea, southern Japan and the Philippines.

He also pointed out that in America, Mexico could register an M5+ earthquake and in the worst case M6.3 with epicenter in Guerrero or Oaxaca. While for Chile, a M6+ earthquake could be expected and in the worst case M7.4 with epicenter in the region of Valparaíso. On the other hand, Peru, Ecuador and Argentina could register a M5+ earthquake and in the worst case M7.0.

The total number of earthquakes recorded worldwide in the last 24 hours has decreased to 799 which is within the normal range of activity.
