People in the US, UK, Europe and Russia who like internet streaming radio might try Radio Paradise.
_http://www.radioparadise.com/rp_2.php#name=Listen . It is categorized as 'eclectic' or 'alternative'.
It's completely listener supported and doesn't have commercials, but it doesn't require registration or a subscription, or stop every half hour to ask whether you're still listening like some other streaming services do (*cough*, Pandora).
I used to listen to Radio Paradise years ago with the Mplayer plugin under Firefox, but the m3u stream stopped working, likely due to some neglect by the Mplayer developers, Mozilla or my Linux distribution, and therefore I drifted away when I had to use a media player to listen.
However, the planets have aligned in the interim, so listening to Radio Paradise right in the Firefox web browser under Linux now works again. I simply open the 96k Ogg Vorbis link in a new tab, which leaves the Listen webpage showing the recent playlist and song title.
There are also MP3 and AAC links from 24k or 32k dialup or mobile up through 192k, and even Windows Media, RealPlayer and RP Flash Player links, as well as apps for smartphones and tablets. It has streaming links originating in the US (Texas and Washington, DC), in the UK for Europe, and in Russia.
The playlist isn't customisable like some other streaming services, but I find its track selections are easy on the ears. I could characterize its playlist further, but if you're interested, just give it a listen.
I have no connection with Radio Paradise other than as a (recently returned) listener.
