Mass Shooting at Bondi Beach, Sydney, targets Jews celebrating Hanukkah

Can you find that article the TikTok vid includes, the one stating that Akram jr. "served in the IDF"?

While it's not the TikTok vid, there is this twist.

While little is known about them beyond, posts on social media are making a bizarre claim that the 24-year-old suspect, Naveed Akram, was a former IDF soldier whose real name is David Cohen. A Facebook profile, allegedly belonging to David Cohen, is being circulated on social media, where the photo of Naveed Akram can be seen.

I did a search for David Cohen on FB and got this:

The original page making the claim has been deleted.

It is from a small Indonesian channel
translation of the article -- Gemini says it is from archive.
After reviewing the data and checking with several sources, regarding the news about Naveed Akram, we, the Editorial Board, retract the initial information from social media sources and apologize for the error.
Signed, Editorial Board of WartaKepri.co.id
It may be a false lead.
WartaKepri TV is the online video and social media presence for the Indonesian news website WartaKepri.co.id, which primarily covers local news from the Kepri (Riau Islands) region of Indonesia.

Organization Profile
Location: The primary website, wartakepri.co.id, covers news from the Riau Islands Province in Indonesia, with local stories about government activities, community events, and law enforcement actions in the area.

Platform: It exists as a news portal (website) and has associated channels on platforms like YouTube and TikTok for its video content.
Content Focus: Content generally appears to be in the Indonesian language and focuses heavily on local regional news and community interest stories.

Media Type: While it uses "TV" in its name and social media handles, it functions more like an online news outlet rather than a traditional broadcast television station, operating in a media landscape where many private media outlets in Indonesia are owned by political elites.

fwiw , It appeared on my X feed , but couldn´t corroborate it so didn´t include the X post on it earlier , ( also am not a facebook or tiktok user so those leads were useless for me ) , of note though at that early time post event grok was already denying that Naveed A. was previously mossad .

I took a screenshot of one of the FB posts. I don't think this David Cohen guy is the same guy.

we know there will be lot of confusion in the initial stages, if something is coming nearer to truth.
  • Australian authorities said, Naveed Akram is pakistani national first.
  • There are some news that he is Indian national and Indian govt. offered to help Australian govt. in finding truth.
  • This Indian news outlet hindustan times article ( Link) says he is falsely identified as ex-IDF soldier named David Cohen. Though this article sprinkle it with 'allegedly', doesn't show any proper proof either.

False social posts claimed suspect Naveed Akram, one of the Bondi Beach shooters, was ex-IDF soldier “David Cohen.” A Facebook profile of Cohen is viral.

Naveed Akram, the 24-year-old man, along with his father, 50-year-old Sajid Akram, have been identified as the only perpetrators of the attack on December 14 at a Jewish celebration in Bondi Beach, near Sydney in Australia.

At least 16 people died in the attack, and more than 42 people were injured in what has been described by authorities as an attack with antisemitic motive.

Amid the attack, a number of false and unverified claims about the suspects in the Bondi Beach shooting and their links to different organizations are being spread. But little information is available in the public domain about the two.

A CBS News report stated that they were of Pakistani origin, though that remains unconfirmed. Meanwhile, authorities in Australia confirmed that the son, Naveed Akram, was on the radar of Australia’s security agency (ASIO) for alleged ties to an Islamic State (IS)–linked cell.

However, the claims are false and outright misleading, as neither reports nor official sources in Australia have any links to the Israeli Defence Forces. Along with a screenshot of the Facebook profile, a screenshot from Google Trends allegedly showing Naveed Akram's name being searched in Tel Aviv on the day of the shooting also surfaced.

Police controlled the scene at around 7:15 p.m.; one gunman, Sajid Akram, the father, was killed at the scene, and the second, Naveed Akram, was critically wounded and taken into custody.

The father held a valid firearms license and had six registered guns, which police believe were used in the attack. Improvised explosive devices were found in a vehicle linked to the suspects, but they did not detonate.
I guess, some body did AI facial recognition match for this conclusion, before it went viral on social media.

Bondi Beach suspect father arrived in Philippines as ‘Indian national’ — immigration

  • Philippine authorities said the pair spent nearly a month in Mindanao, a region long plagued by militancy
  • Australia’s PM Anthony Albanese said investigators believe the suspects were radicalized by Daesh ideology
MANILA: The father and son allegedly behind one of Australia’s deadliest mass shootings spent nearly the entire month of November in the Philippines, authorities in Manila confirmed Tuesday, with the father entering as an “Indian national.”

Sajid Akram and his son Naveed, who allegedly killed 15 people and wounded dozens of others at a Hanukkah celebration on Sydney’s Bondi Beach, entered the country on November 1 with the southern province of Davao listed as their final destination.

“Sajid Akram, 50, Indian national, and Naveed Akram, 24, Australian national, arrived in the Philippines together last November 1, 2025 from Sydney, Australia,” immigration spokeswoman Dana Sandoval told AFP.

“Both reported Davao as their final destination. They left the country on November 28, 2025 on a connecting flight from Davao to Manila, with Sydney as their final destination.”

Police and military sources had earlier told reporters they were still in the process of confirming the duo’s presence in the country.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said Tuesday that the two men had likely been radicalized by “Islamic State ideology,” referring to the militant group also known as Daesh.

The Philippines’ southern island of Mindanao, home to Davao province, has a long history of Islamist insurgencies against central government rule.

Pro-Daesh Maute and Abu Sayyaf militants — including foreign and local fighters — held Mindanao’s Marawi under siege in 2017.

The Philippine military wrested back the ruined city after a five-month battle that claimed more than 1,000 lives and displaced hundreds of thousands of people.

While insurgent activity in Mindanao has significantly abated in the years since, the Philippine army continues to hunt leaders of groups deemed to be “terrorists.”
  • some body called 'Naveed Akram" claims that his identity is hijacked and his pictures were used.

So the narration is all over the place (for now) regarding the identity of the shooter Naveed Akram

Some citizen footage from the massacre site. Have placed it behind a spoiler for those that don't want to see it.

This tweet is a sarcastic joke or typical anti-Modi silly narration linking it to Bollywood movie 'Dhurandhar' (that runs on the Indo-pak terrorism/anti-terrorism plot). This tweet uses Sanghi's ( aka Rashtriya Sevak Sangh (RSS) to which Modi belongs). Movie ( or this line of movie plot) is considered as nationalistic. you get the picture.

Plot of Dhurandhar

Dhurandhar follows Jaskirat Singh Rangi (Ranveer Singh), an Indian intelligence agent who assumes the identity of Hamza Ali Mazari to infiltrate the criminal underworld of Lyari, Karachi, Pakistan. His mission, codenamed "Operation Dhurandhar", is launched by IB Director Ajay Sanyal (R. Madhavan) in response to major terror attacks on India, including the 1999 Kandahar hijacking and the 2001 Parliament attack.
  • Hamza embeds himself within the powerful Baloch gang led by the feared gangster Rehman Dakait (Akshaye Khanna). He gains Rehman's trust by saving his son and demonstrating combat skills, eventually becoming a key lieutenant.
  • As he rises in the gang, Hamza uncovers a vast network linking Rehman, corrupt politician Jameel Jamali (Rakesh Bedi), and Major Iqbal (Arjun Rampal) of the ISI, who are involved in arms smuggling, counterfeit currency, and planning attacks on India.
  • Hamza begins a relationship with Jameel's daughter, Yalina (Sara Arjun), to further his access and create division between Rehman and Jameel.
  • After the devastating 2008 Mumbai attacks occur despite his efforts, Hamza, fueled by rage and duty, resolves to dismantle the entire network. He orchestrates a complex plan, allying with suspended police officer Chaudhary Aslam (Sanjay Dutt) to eliminate Rehman.
  • The climax unfolds on August 9, 2009, where Hamza engineers a double ambush: he sends Rehman's men to a fake arms deal and drives Rehman himself into a trap set by Aslam. After a violent confrontation, Rehman is critically injured and dies in the hospital, with Hamza's betrayal remaining hidden.
  • The film concludes with Hamza's true identity revealed and his mission far from over. Having eliminated Rehman, he now sets his sights on the elusive mastermind, "Bade Sahab," setting the stage for the sequel, Dhurandhar: Part 2 – Revenge.

Strange, the tweet originally had footage that panned around the massacre site showing some of the shooting victims and emergency services taking care of some of them. There was one man apparently dead who had his head covered with a towel or something.

My apologies Bold part should read as "grok was already denying that Naveed A. was previously IDF "

Is this Arson Ostrovsky "on set"?

When he was interviewed I was struck by the normal Aussie accent of someone who claimed that he'd lived in Israel for the past 13 years, and had only "come to Australia 2 weeks ago" to "fight anti-semitism".

In my opinion, if someone has been living in Israel for the past 13 years, then they don't sound like they've never left Australia! I believe this photo was from a facebook post.

The image is AI generated. You can tell by the text on the shirt being illegible/garbled, his ear being garbled, and the car in the background being a mangled mess of car windows/side panels and wheels.

When investigating emotionally charged events, it's important to keep grounded.
A lot of things get posted on social media for clicks/attention, and a lot gets posted by intel agencies/trolls to muddy the waters.

He's suspicious for sure - but think back on past events (The Boston bombing, Sandy Hook etc) and the "birth" of the "crisis actors" meme (followed later by the "flat earth" meme). Alex Jones was taken to court and sued for millions over the "crisis actors" meme in regard to Sandy Hook.
[..]
Some people are jumping on the „crisis actors“ false flag meme. More likely would be it’s real - and just like Trump had a near miss, so did this guy because „perfect miracle/PR“ (I.e. 4D STS)
[..]

So ask who benefits from people jumping on these "memes"?
What part of yourself does it appeal too? Does it appeal to some emotional side of yourself?
These are questions I try to ask myself.

That doesn't mean it's not suspicious. Maybe it's simple - maybe a psychopath (with a little 4D nudge) used the opportunity to further his victim narrative?
A normal person would not have the presence of mind to take such a picture.
And maybe that's what feels fake about it - his psychopathic mask. His inhuman/alien response (and dead eyed facial expression) to the situation.

So whoever created/pushes the "crisis actor" meme, is running good cover for people cognitive dissonance when looking at that picture. Deliberately or otherwise.

Thinking further, it's not out of the realms of possibility the guy deliberately injured himself (if so, he must have some knowledge of injury/how to inflict it) - psychopaths will take advantage of a situation.
Playing to the TV cameras afterwards with blood still on your face (i.e. not cleaning it up), suggests deliberate intent to use the injury to "sell the message".
