PDF versus mobi?

Hi, my question is this one: my Calibre is not able to transform a PDF book in mobi for my Kindle. Do you know another program that will do this? I need a mobi extension for my Kindle, this is not able to read a PDF.

If you google (or whatever search engine) "pdf to mobi" you will go to a page asking you for a pdf and it will make you download a mobi file! The trick is to try several until you find out the one working as you need.

Bonjour, si tu cherches les termes "pdf to mobi" sur google par exemple, tu trouveras beaucoup de sites Internet qui permettent de faire une conversion. Le site te demandera un fichier PDF, et tu lui indique ton fichier sur ton disque dur. Puis, le site le convertira en mobi et te proposera de le télécharger.

Il y a beaucoup de sites qui permettent de réaliser des opération similaires, le truc est d'en essayer jusqu'à ce qu'il y en ait un qui fasse ce que tu souhaites. Parfois, des sites demandent de s'inscrire, d'autres auront des limites de caractères, ou de taille de fichier. pour la conversion.

Hey loreta,

Kindle doesn’t support .mobi anymore since 2023.
you can still read the .mobi books that you already have in your Kindle but you can’t upload more of those.
Try converting it to .epub, that works for Kindle.
 
I can read mobi in my kindle, and with Calibre I can change epub to mobi withou a problem. But Calibre is unable to change PDF to mobi. that my Kindle can read and accept. I don't understand when you say that Kindle do not support mobi anymore. Are you sure of that? By the way I can not read epub in my Kindle. Just mobi.

I don't have a kindle device but I thought that it would be easy to do the action you would like to perform. Just a question: when on your Kindle device, is there a "shop" of some sort, like on smartphones? You know, the thing like "Google apps" - things like that - an "app shop"?

@Mari (and others) - seems Kindle format must be OCR'd, meaning that the text must be recognized, and, I assume, in a specific understandable fashion by the Kindle device. I notice that (some) Kindle devices may have a prroprietary format - "AZW3"
 
It depends on the Kindle version, mine (Kindle 8th generation) still supports .mobi files, but cannot read .epub files. I use this online converter and it works perfectly.

Hi Palestine, I tried your link but there is no option to transform in Mobi.
