Asperger Syndrome

The Force is Strong With This One
Biologically, what is the condition that is diagnosed as Asperger Syndrome (in most cases, general definition, as it’s not always true and spot on, I suppose )?
Can we do something to help someone with that condition to make their life easier?
Or at least to make our life with them easier? ;)
What is the source of all this Asperger (and autism) stuff, and how does it work?

Thanks,
Adam

Sorry, misclicked while typing the title. Can’t find a way to change that. 😬

Hello meskal, this is probably a question that can be answered with our own effort. First we might need more details.

First thing to know is, who is the person who has asperger's that you are enquiring for? If it's an adult, have they asked you for help? If they haven't then attempts to help them probably won't go very well.

Next, have you done a search on the forum? There are quite a few threads that discuss the topic and since there are a few different ways to approach the problem, like diet and detox and counselling for example, perhaps we might need to know more specific details about the exact issues you are facing to be of more assistance.

Thanks for answering.
To make story short: It’s about my child.
And yes, I’ve done my research, doing what I can for many years, but that’s not the point.
The point is I ask to ask Cs my question.
I believe I’m not the only one struggling, and I think that C’s answer could be a great addition / verification / contradiction to what I / people in my situation already know, and could benefit somehow from that answer. That’s what it’s all about, isn’t it?
And if this topic is mentioned anywhere in the transcripts, could you please point it to me? Because I’m in „the loop” for many years, but don’t remember reading about it.
All bests!

…and it’s not a personal question, there is another thread for that kind, from what I see.

Why ask them if you can figure the answer out for yourself? It just requires you put all the information you've found from your research into answers. Otherwise, why do research at all? What answers have you found so far?

The next question will becomes: "How do I deal with it?"

The point is, you don't need to ask the Cs this, if you can figure out how the problem occured, as well as well as what to do about it for yourself. Even some members of the forum can have answers too!

Sorry to hear about your son, how old is he?

Aspergers isn't mentioned in the transcripts by that term, but it is a part of the Autism Spectrum I think and the terms autism and autistic are in the transcripts.

There is a thread on Aspergers here and quite a few threads on autism in a forum search.

Jones, I'm going to post yours here from session of 25 January of 2025, so Mezcal doesn't miss it, I hope you don't mind.

Was just doing a forum search on autism and found this post from 2006 that quotes a news article that talks about genetic mutations discovered in individuals with autism.

So perhaps the genetic tinkering done involved chromosome 22 and shank3.

As has been mentioned many times in the forum, one of the ways to improve any syndrome or disorder on the autism spectrum is through diet.
Dr. Katherine Reid, for example, discovered through her daughter, who had autism, a way to treat her through diet by eliminating all processed foods containing glutamate.
With excellent results, her daughter's autism-related behaviors completely disappeared.
But as has been mentioned in the forum, eliminating gluten and dairy products in general also greatly enhances the healing process for children with autism.
Here is some information about Dr. Katherine Reid:

We have begun the glutamate free diet about a week ago.

We were already pretty close to this diet in that we were not consuming casein, gluten or soy and we are very confident that there was zero of any of that

My son was diagnosed with autism and epilepsy about 2.5 years ago. My son was on antiepileptic medicine when I met Katie. When we started on the diet, my son wasn’t sleeping and there was no spontaneous language. His language and

I came across Katherine’s video and then her website. I started my son on the reduced free glutamate diet when he was 3yrs old. I started to see improvements within two weeks and continue to see progress 3 months later. After

I am happy to write a few words expressing my thankfulness for Katie Reid and the not-for-profit organization Unblind My Mind. I first met Katie at the elementary school where our children both attend as classmates. It wasn’t until some later

D. Voisin

“I have been using Katie Reid’s guidelines from unblindmymind.org for how to remove traces of MSG from my son’s diet for about 6 months now and the results have been AMAZING.”
My son, Sebastian, is 7. He had laryngomalacia and severe acid

I have been following Katie’s diet recommendations which have been challenging and kind of wonderful. As of now, I love eating this way. In February I began a six month schedule to withdraw from Prozac. I know that diet has played

The changes in my Godson so far have been amazing. He is so much more aware, he is socializing more and he doesn’t seem to have the same sensitivities to light like he used to. I remember he would never take

C. Mazzei

Since starting on the diet, he has made wonderful improvements. He is less fearful, has finally started sleeping through the night and is becoming more able to have a conversation. And, knock on wood, no more meltdowns. Just normal 4-year-old frustration

First off, I want to say thank you for your research. We have gone to a total GFCF MSG Free diet with our son. In just 4 weeks we are already starting to see some gains. Last night for the first

Hey Adam,

I'm sure this is difficult for you, and it's great that you're looking for answers! As others have mentioned, this is a very broad question. My wife is a specialist in sensory integration therapy, a preschool teacher, a teacher of the deaf, etc. You could say that your question is her area of expertise, so if you have any specific concerns, please write them here and if my wife feels comfortable, I will definitely ask her these questions :-) How old is your child? Please note that according to the latest research and classifications, Asperger's syndrome has been included in the broad definition of autism. From what my wife tells me, the most important thing for such children is to have aware parents who have the strength to help them. It is not easy, and you should never blame yourself for anything being wrong. The most important thing is to accept reality and learn how to help your child—the earlier you implement the right diet, exercises, therapeutic activities, etc., the more “normally” the individual will function in adulthood—Asperger's syndrome is, in a sense, “mild autism,” so there is really a lot that can be done!

I agree. If you like, you could write more about some details and questions you have. With the new definition of Autism Spectrum Disorder it is more open and takes the individual more into account. That means what works for one person isn't necessarily the best choice for another. Though in my experience, structures and routines are many times of great help. I think there are also many books out there from people who live with, i. e. Aspergers.
