Yeah I read about something like this from Mark yesterday. Thanks for posting it up Laura.
Interestingly enough, I was thinking to post the article below yesterday but didn't get round to it. It talks about how fat and carbohydrate diets are equally effective in weight loss. I agree with Mark...
Weightgain/obesity is only one manifestation of estrogen dominance, and is not the rule. Like many physiological imbalances, it can manifest as one group of symptoms (obesity), or the complete opposite symptoms (under weight), OR may not even affect the weight whatsoever. This is what makes it...
By modern standards yes, skinny doesn't correspond with hypothyroidism. But mainstream medicine fails to acknowledge the role of cortisol and other stress hormones in a hypothyroid state. Subclinical hypothyroidism/ sluggish thyroid function can manifest in all manner of ways, and may not even...
I forgot about this one. The interesting thing about this study is that in the methodology the diets containing sugar were "LF/HSD and HF/HSD primarily containing refined carbohydrates and were matched for sucrose content;"
Throughout the paper the authors state that the main problem with the...
So, here is just a brief overview of the dietary experiment I have recently been undertaking:
3-4 meals per day.
Low fat content - <30g mostly saturated and monounsaturated fats. very little PUFA.
Coconut oil, beef tallow and small amounts of lard. I cut out dairy completely, since my IGG...
Re: Time restricted eating
On the topic of circadian rhythms, there are two types of circadian clocks in the body.
1. is the suprachiasmatic nuclei in the hypothalamus (the central circadian clock) which is entrained by light cycles. So light in the morning, and no light in the evening...
This next post is entirely in-line with the hypothesis set forth by Dr Valentine, author of the book I am currently reading called "Human Longevity: Omega-3 Fatty Acids, Bioenergetics, Molecular Biology, and Evolution". It is pretty amazing to see that the whole "oxidative stress" theory of...
Docosahexaenoic Acid - DHA
The majority of the work cited in the next few posts are by world leading expert on DHA - Michael Crawford, along with research partner Stephen Cunnane. Their main case is that DHA was THE driving factor behind brain development in all earthly species. Interestingly...
Thanks for you everyone who has commented. Just to clarify, when I wrote this:
It was referring to a place in my original post that I had edited to change the wording, rather than actually saying that I felt disappointed with myself in that moment.
This wasn't something that I was expecting...

Ignore the BS about tobacco and climate change ofc
Oops  I will admit that I don't have much of an understanding of how metabolism works - so thank you for pointing that out A Jay.
It certainly has helped - I have actually increased my amount to literally 2-3 fat bombs per day with no bad side effects (which I actually expected to get!)...
...everyday ( we have tried our best to black out the windows but still there is some light that gets in) perhaps this is affecting fat metabolism and the ability to gainweight? I remember reading a few articles on SOTT about how disturbed sleep can reduce fat metabolism by (I think) 80%!! :scared:
