10 Best movies reflecting on life on Earth

A few months ago, on a SOTT webcast, a guest gave his opinion on relevant movies depecting life as we see it. I'd
like to present a list of my own 10 , give or take, in no particular
order.

1/ The Matrix Trilogy
2/ They Live (1987)
3/ A Man of the People(1942) A famous patriot is found out to
have fascist leanings. Hmmm.
4/ The Rules of the Game(1939) The rich, the poor, and how life is run.
5/ The Testament of Dr. Mabuse(1933) A madman seeks to keep society in a state of constant fear so crime becomes normal.
6/ Duck Soup(1933) Rufus T. Firefly looks pretty good right about now!
7/ The Manchurian Candidate(1962)
8/ The President's Analyst(1967) Who reallly runs the country?
TPC!
9/ Network(1976) Paddy C. saw it all coming.
10/ 2010 Life evolving for the better.

Many more possible, but these were the best that I could come up with at this late hour.

I just watched the whole movie Network. on this link
The parallels to today are quite remarkable, same geopolitics, depression, corporate insider dealings, soulless TV culture. really astonishing to realise this was made over 30 years ago. The only thing that has changed is the technology. Thoroughly recommended.
 
V for Vendetta is a GREAT movie. Found it at Best Buy in the $6.00 bin and promptly grabbed a copy. It's been a while since I've watched it. Thanks for the reminder guys! :D
 
hey guys my 2 cents here..

Mr. Brooks (2007) , A great way to depict psychopathy
Lord of War(2005) , Again corporate america, and the way arms are dealt through "enemies of the state" and "allies of the state"

those are the movies that i can think off the top of my head right now.....
 
I will add the movie Swimming with Sharks to this list. Talk about reflecting life on earth, it's a great story about how people get ponerized and then become the thing that they have been fighting against their whole life. And Kevin Spacey pre-American Beauty is excellent. This is a must watch for those able to get their hands on a copy.
 
One documentary I thought of is The Corporation. I thought this documentary was very well done and it is definitely worth the watch.

I just saw an American film of 1981, French director Louis Malle, in exile for these subversive films. "My dinner with Andre" is a moving film. We think it will be boring because the film is practically plays in the restaurant. This may look like filmed theater, but it speaks of the existence of the mechanical role of man and how to find the "fourth way".

I have seen and enjoyed many films in my time, but I have got to say the one that still affects me right in my ribcage

is THE ABYSS. The way I can feel myself going under the water (even though I cannot swim) with a total loss of sound

no fear and no expectation is breath-taking. I can feel it now even though it's been years since I saw it.

Soppy maybe but I love the goose-bumps .
 
I was thinking about the movie "Yes Man" with Jim Carrey, as a representation of living in STS VS STO. In the movie Jim Carrey accepts a challenge of saying Yes to everything after he was lacking living in a No world, and the cosmic creativeness followed. In the real world giving when it is asked of you also creates a much richer and fuller life.
 
Recommending Tomorrowland (2015)
Don't check the trailer before you watch it! :) There is a story to it but it might be, unclear when you watch it. However the best movies I know are those that have no real storyline to it. Just simply show the beautiful life we share together.
