Now, was it food poisoning or because of the board... 🤷‍♀️

In any case:

11 children found collapsed in school corridor after playing ouija board game

It is alleged that the children were involved in a ouija board game - a board with letters, numbers, and other signs around its edge used to make contact with the dead

Eleven children who took part in a ouija board game have been found passed out in their school.

They suffered violent vomiting, and muscle spasms, which medics have said was due to food poisoning.

Teachers at the Agricultural Technical Institute in Hato, Columbia, were shocked upon discovering the group of students had collapsed in a corridor.

The children, aged between 13 and 17, were rushed to the Manuela Beltrán Hospital, in the district of Socorro.

The youngsters spent a day there getting treatment, but the mysterious cause of their illness has left staff baffled.

It is alleged that the children were involved in a Ouija board game - a board with letters, numbers, and other signs around its edge used to make contact with the dead.

Jose Pablo Toloza RondĂłn, the mayor of Hato said: "The children were passed out, at the time they were found they were short of breath and thick drool was coming out of their mouths.

“It is not ruled out that it was the ouija board, that is part of the investigation.

"Others say that they consumed water from a container, others that they came from a pool and had been given something to eat."

After interviewing the children, it was concluded that they drank water from the same glass.

Juan Pablo Vargas Noguera, emergency medical coordinator at Hospital del Socorro said: “We went to El Hato and we found 11 patients between 13 and 17 years old with vomiting, abdominal pain and muscle spasms.

“We did not find psychological alteration in the children, taking into account that it was said that it would have been from playing the Ouija board.

"The medical report says it was due to food poisoning."

The rectory of the Technical Institute said that it was not going to rule on the case until the facts were clarified with authorities.

11 of them??

The story is doing the rounds al over different news sites online. Their articles all read pretty much the same word for word, apart from one that says:

“Hato Mayor Jose Pablo Tolosa Rondon denied the claim that the children fainted because of playing the Ojo board. He said that please do not spread scientific baseless claims and the incident will be thoroughly investigated.”
That’s from an article that is a lot newer than most of the others.

A weird thing about it is, if you Google “Hato mayor”, it comes up with the “Charlie Charlie” pencil game that was apparently being played by children back in 2015 who used balanced pencils as a medium to ask yes/no questions. That story originated in Hato Mayor Province in the Dominican Republic.

Interesting coincidence, there.

Another similar story, again from Colombia but this time Galeras, affecting 28 girls:

A ghostbuster who worked as an NYPD cop said 28 girls were hospitalised after playing with a ouija board at a school

The girls were thought to be playing with a ouija board, also known as a spirit board, when the mass fainting incident happened.

cop-turned-ghost hunter Chris DeFlorio said that "something evil" may be targeting the children in the area. The demonologist said that authorities aren’t looking at all possible causes for the girls’ collapse.

He said: "While most cases have been dismissed as food poisoning, unclean water, or another rational explanation, they exclude an obvious one, a doorway to evil might have been opened.

"The children all began manifesting symptoms after using the Ouija board. This is the one common denominator being overlooked, dismissed, or potentially covered up."

Chris and his wife Harmony perform exorcisms across the US to rid homes and individuals of evil spirits.

The Religious Demonologist, who was an officer for the New York Police Department for 19 years, operates New York Demonic Investigation, a non-profit that aims to get rid of demons in the US.

Another case of 'food poisoning'...? Seems pretty unlikely. Is there some fad going round Colombia with spirit boards at the moment?

Are we looking at a spreading psychological contagion or spiritual one - or a mix of the two?
