Just finished watching this movie and it was really good I felt! :)
*******SPOILER ALERT*******
Basically this guy Aron Ralston gets his arm stuck between a rock in a very small canyon and he can't get it loose, forcing him to weigh up his limited options. He eventually amputates his arm after six days days stuck in the remote blue john canyon in Utah USA, and it's a pretty gruesome scene to be quite Frank. Aron loses forty pounds in body weight, 25% of his blood supply and was on the verge of death at the end.
What I found interesting was the Esoteric significance of his journey. He battled his own negative thoughts and panic to objectively analyse what he could actually do about his situation, using what he could reach as tools to help him survive that bit longer. The physical aspect such as the cold wind and his very uncomfortable position he had to stand in for six days, having no sleep and resorting to drinking his own urine to make it through. Somehow he made it and the thing that stood out for me was that he appeared to have crystallised something permanent in him, a real 'I', in having experienced the emotional, mental and physical stress he endured.
