AND PEOPLE WONDER WHY THIS COUNTRY IS SUCH A MESS ...

The above scenarios actually describe a country that is in a state of hystericization.

The above expresses the sentiment of why we moved a little deeper into the country, hoping to be with people a little closer to the "nuts and bolts" of Reality, maybe an older grass roots culture, and more conducive to the here and now, versus a Controlled and Imposed mindset.

And mostly, we have found people that still think for themselves in the outlying areas. We also found that there's no automatic validation of free thinking/being linked to being knowledgeable. But you do see the basics: these people care deeply for their animals and their family. The difference between their kids and animals is that they know their kids will jump the fence way quicker, and come into a much worse world having done so because they are human (in this environment). Extra attention is paid to rearing their own because of this. (This sounds cold, like kids are simply animals, but you need to see how people can care for animals, if you haven't before).

In the above comparison, there's a bit too much implied corporal punishment that may lead the simple or (trained into simplistic thinking people) to think it is necessary as a means, but you get that anywhere you go (simple rule following people, I mean). It isn't necessary and it might be, but it requires paying attention, and it CAN'T be codified into a rule book. This is part of the lost art of knowing the "why" of the situation.

Moving to the country was a temporary salve for us, as it were. Change of venue was at first exhilarating, feeding our hopes that we had found some realists. We did, but soon you see the same patterns, only in a different context.

It is what it is, I guess.

In the city, or in the country, then or now, we forge a particular path, understanding at every step that the environment we do it in might be a factor influencing our direction, and also understanding that what we do might disturb the environment beyond our short sighted comprehension.

We can only hope that our disturbance creates growth.

What's the difference between then and now, I ask myself. It seems that people then, individually, understood and agreed within themselves what was good, and everyone else was in tune.

Now it seems no one knows for sure, except for what they are told. And that isn't sitting pretty, hence the load of dissonance we see.

Some thoughts, and some experience shared....

Cheers.
