That is what Sidney Powell was stating, although, as you suggest, there are conflicting opinions on this from a constitutional perspective.
Maybe we should see if Mark Levin, a constitutional historian, has weighed in on this.
From what I've read is that Pence his role is just a formality. But not everyone agrees.
If Pence is really on team Trump then tomorrow everyone wants to know.

Yes, I just meant that Levin might bring some clarity as to the constitutional component. I'm scanning a long article he's written concerning the election fraud, and the republicans' response; so far I don't see anything specifically regarding the role of the vice president.

I guess I wasn’t clear enough in my post. I definitely don’t need to be convinced of the deep, dark underpinnings from which this world really operates. I just question why Lin Wood is posting so frenetically about things of that nature, if, in fact, he is trying to help the cause of stopping the coup. In that context, I think those claims will appear off wall for those who are still having a hard time even digesting that there has been an attempted coup in the US, much less try to convince them that there’s been no help from the courts because some of them are being blackmailed for ritual child abuse. (first things first) Also, he is not being censored, and doesn’t even have one of those “this claim has been fact checked to be false, etc”, on his posts. (?) To me it seems he’s gone off a bit, or is being used, knowingly or unknowingly, to delegitimize claims of voter fraud. Nothing more I’d love to see than Trump going full Rambo on all of those sick twists if he manages to pull this off.
May be it will give courage to Pence to standup. If he doesn't, may be it will give courage to Trump to impose emergency or military rule and probably it will give shivers to the military guys, get some courage to support POTUS. If this mob goes berserk, how many heads will roll? If they go berserk, it will give some pretext to impose military rule. so many possibilities with the large group of people in one place.
Irony of it all is, one has to impose military rule to restore democracy. What a world we live in. Let's wait and see.

The whole world is waiting and depend on it. Hopefully Trump will find the courage. My familly was at church today, we prayed and lit candles for him. (we usually dont do that :) ). Will do the same tomorow. Also, its orthodox (eastern christian) christmas eve tomorow.

It's like that scene from V for Vendetta where Inspector Finch can't fall asleep and looks out at the sunrise and says something like, "Tonight's your night. Are you ready for it? Are we ready for it?" Couldn't find a clip of it. It could be drawn out even longer than a day so we'll see what happens tomorrow.
