At exactly midnight New Year's Eve, I ran outside due to people setting off firecrackers. Then I saw two very bright orange lights following each other from south to north. The wind was blowing east. Then another orange light coming from the same direction as the other two, followed them in an upward very shallow arch. I finally lost sight of them through the cloud layer & they were still heading upward. Total sighting time approximately 4-5 minutes. I did not think they could be flares, because they never lost altitude & they followed each other. I have to admit though the timing of exactly midnight New Years Eve is a bit suspect. I was able to get some very crude cell phone shots, but they just look like tiny white dots. This is a first for me... if it was something anomolous.
