In the latest report on Public Relations Spending from the Government Accountability Office (GAO), the United States’ government PR apparatus has been revealed to spend over $1 billion annually — $626 million of which the Department of Defense allots to employ a massive propaganda army constituting roughly 40 percent of the more than 5,000-strong federal public relations workforce.

I've wondered about some of the movies that have come out recently that appear to be pro-war. Specifically those to do with WWII heroism such as Dunkirk and the one about Winston Churchill. Haven't watched them, mind, just going by the trailers. However, the slant does seem to be about presenting war as something glorious. It also seems that every other form of masculinity (apart from being shot at or blown up) seems to be under assault.
