Since I am here really I don't know anymore what to eat, what not to eat, what is good or bad, I'm really lost and I would like, please, if you can give me a title of a good cooking book in the same philosophy that yours.

Thank you.

There's no book I know that will have recipes for what we eat. It might be good to take a look at the Recipes board. Just be aware that some recipes are old and list things that were found out to be bad for you. Like brown rice and all grains have gluten, test for eggs, test for butter(I think, or maybe just ghee), test for nightshades, test for nuts and beans.

Test refers to doing the ultrasimple diet for a week or two and then reintroducing those foods. Check out this thread to see how. Basically you never want to eat gluten, dairy, corn, soy, msg, and other additives.

Hello Loreta, I can understand you it's a difficult topic.

There is one book imo, which covers lots of the topics we are discussing here: Ultra mind solution from Mark Hyman. Actually it is not a cooking book, but could give you lots of background information, what to avoid for example and also with an explanation of how to leave out food and then integrate it later again.

The ultra simple diet was based on that book, but got modified, as more data and experiences (from the team) were collected. Nonetheless it is important to check the forum and especially the health section.

You can have a look at that thread "What's for Dinner?". You will find lots of ideas.

Thanks for the information. I will try to find the Ultra Mind Solution. And check for threads. I started to read about potatoes. I try to eat anything without additives but evidently I am a NOVATA in cooking good food for my health, in the sense that I don't know what is good or not. I din't eat processed food, however if I want a change, like doing EE and reading Laura and Sott ;), I need to have a change in what I eat. Every thing is connected.

Thank you!

Hi Loreta!

Are you looking for books in Spanish?

“Ultra mind solution” from Mark Hyman not available in Spanish, but you can find another book by Mark Hyman in Spanish: “Ultrametabolismo”

I also found a book in Spanish on the paleodiet: “Paleodieta para deportistas” loren cordain y joel friel

The two books are in www.casadellibro.com

http://www.casadellibro.com/libro-ultrametabolismo-las-siete-causas-fundamentales-de-la-obesidad/1120428/2900001158314

May be helpful to start but, above all, follow the advice of legolas:

Thank you very much Orangescorpion, I prefer english books because they are in original version. I will check for the Ultra Mind Solution.

And I will check anyway your links, gracias!

Loreta,

You might also like to look at the detox diet posted on the EE forum.

Doing this diet, your body/mind tells you what you should be eating. You'll be able to tell which foods inflame you and which ones don't.

Nienna, thanks. I am always lost in this forum, I never find what I am looking for.
So, if I understand correctly: we read the book, than we do the diet. Why it is so important to do the diet? OK, to detox. Are they some secondary effects when you do this diet? Just to know, to be prepared.

There is an Ultra Simple diet (modified from Dr. Hyman's here on the Forum) that is designed to have no allergens. If you follow it for a time, you can carefully introduce different types of foods one at a time and see if you have bad reactions to them. That is how people can find out the particular foods that cause problems for them that maybe other people can eat.

The only secondary effects I can think of right at the moment would be from however your body tells you that a food you just tried is not for you. For me, my back hurts in various places, or my lungs may become congested, by brain foggy, etc.

Oh, and some people have lost weight doing this diet. We suggest that if you lose too much weight for you, remember that you can eat as much as you want of these foods. So fill yourself up! :)

The diet I linked to above is the most current version of the UltraSimple Diet that those at the chateau have found to work best. At the chateau (where Laura and her family live) they have a lot of people that to experiment with :) as far as what types of foods do what to whom and after learning about lectins, gluten and other toxins in vegetables and fruits, they have refined the UltraSimple Diet to what works best for all of them.

Uffff. I dont know if I will be able to live without coffee! I just take 2 coffees by day, however. I saw the book The Ultra Diet at amazon.UK for around 1 pound, I will ordered it and read it and thank you for the link. I know it is very complicated to make a change, a very important change, in our lives. When you change your diet you change the basics, because what you eat is from education and culture. It is an habit. Your diet is what your mother told you what it was good to eat, and your grandparents. That's why I say changing the diet is complicated, it is like to start from point 0.

I made big changes to cure my migraines, and it works. I can make other changes.

Thanks for everything.

I think the recommendation for quitting coffee is to go slowly. If you have 2 cups a day, first try one or one and a half cups. Then go to half a cup. Then when you are drinking no coffee try some black tea. Then maybe Yerba Mate. If you want no caffeine and have to have a cup of something, maybe work down to an herbal tea like Rooibos.

I used to enjoy a good coffee or hot cocoa and always drank tea. But I don't miss them and water is just fine for me.
