A Dangerous Method (2011)

Plot: Set on the eve of World War I, A Dangerous Method is based on the turbulent relationships between Carl Jung, founder of analytical psychology, Sigmund Freud, founder of the discipline of psychoanalysis, and Sabina Spielrein, initially a patient of Jung and later a physician and one of the first female psychoanalysts.

I consider this movie as a solid presentation of psychological facts, maybe i'm wrong, you tell me.
Also, parts of Sabina Spielrein's case has similarity to mine, especially at the part of her subconscious expressions and consequences of her father's influence.
I enjoyed it!

Watched this film too, directed by David Cronenberg with the dynamics cited above by Lux12 (movie based on historical letters) between Sigmund Freud (Viggo Mortensen), Carl Jung (Michael Fassbender) and Sabina Spielrein (Keira Knightley). Otto Gross (Vincent Cassel) is the patient and psychologist sent to Jung by Freud, as was Sabina or at least Sabina wanted to see Freud but ended up at Jung's - this all gets rather interesting. The acting was very convicing and professional, as was the the cinematography - architecture and costumes were great, too.

Here is the official trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=664eq7BXQcM This movie had quite an impact on me. The character of C. G. Jung, how he is depicted in that movie, really is an inspiration to me. I felt, that this man appears to be an honest student who is not afraid to make mistakes, who tries to learn from them and grow through it, a real scientist. He is observing everything that happens inside and outside of him, no matter if it flatters him or not. He experiences his dark side, while he tries to live up to his moral concepts. He struggles with his own dark desires and impulses, but allways tries to look at it with a certain detachment. He is very attentive and keeps an open mind, unlike the more narrowminded Sigmund Freud character. His researches go far beyond the realm of ordinary psychology. Very interesting movie indeed. :D

Thanks for sharing, I'll def watch it soon. Based on the trailer, I agree with the acting being very 'on the dot'. Jung and Freud...should be interesting.

Looks very interesting, now only to find time to watch it.
Thanks for heads up

I watched this movie a while ago and I enjoyed it.

What I found the most interesting is how both Jung and Freud were shown to be men who had a lot of mental problems themselves. And how Jung was so much more open and "down to earth" than Freud, who seemed to be a pompous ass for the most part.
