This is what is currently going on in the town next to me! I'm not sure how to post the article, so I just copied the link.

"It's been a bad situation for a long time and the last thing we want to do is to have any of our public hurt." -Sheriff Matt Lutz

Pure ignorance in that statement! If they were so concerned with the well being of the public, why in the hell didn't they shut it down to begin with? Several animals have been shot already. So much for those tranquilizers they mentioned. So sad.

I live about 45mins from Zanesville. (Howdy neighbor :)) I go there from time to time to get my meat. This was the talk at the office today.

Too bad all those animals were killed. It's not their fault. I wonder who opened the gates and I also wonder what the owner died from. Was he mauled by his animals? Was this some sort of suicidal/homicidal act?

The news here reported that he opened their cage gates and then killed himself.

Jeez, suicidal and homicidal. How incredibly inconsiderate to the animals and the human population.

The Humane Society says Missouri, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio and Oklahoma are the most lenient when it comes to allowing dangerous wildlife as pets. In some places, there are actually more laws about having cats or dogs than there are mountain lions.

Howdy!

50 animals dead. 18 Bengal Tigers, 17 Lions, 8 Bears, 3 Mountain Lions, 2 wolves, 1 Baboon, all shot down. One monkey, infected with herepes B as reported by the news, was eaten by one of the large cats. On a more positive note, 6 animals were captured alive and taken to the Columbus Zoo.

Now that this mess is over, it's time to work on getting the law changed!
