A moving story

One of the quotes in this thread reminds me of a story a friend told me.

He was on vacation with his girlfriend when they had a big argument and he left the hotel to be on his own. He walked into the middle of nowhere and sat down on a wall.

When he looked down, he noticed an ant trying to move a leaf. The leaf was just too big and the ant couldn't get a good grip. It kept dropping it and trying to pick it up and trying to drag it, but it just wasn't moving.

He says he sat and watched this ant try to move this leaf for about fifteen minutes. He said it was incredible to see the way the ant just wouldn't give up. It had no chance at all, but it kept trying, on and on and on.

After those fifteen minutes, out of nowhere, another two ants came along. They all picked up the leaf and carried it away.

That's an awesome story and it reminds me of myself watching ants do the same thing. I always observe things that are around me, and one time while waiting for the bus at the bus station, I witnessed an aunt do this exact thing, except instead of a leaf he had a piece of cookie or something.. after a while 2 or 3 ants came and they all lifted it together and head out for their home. I thought, how amazing! The power of team work! I love ants because they are just such hard working creatures. And one of my favorite stories is the Ant and the Grasshopper by Aesop~

Aesop said:
The Ant and the Grasshopper

In a field one summer's day a Grasshopper was hopping about, chirping and singing to its heart's content. An Ant passed by, bearing along with great toil an ear of corn he was taking to the nest.

"Why not come and chat with me," said the Grasshopper, "instead of toiling and moiling in that way?"

"I am helping to lay up food for the winter," said the Ant, "and recommend you to do the same."

"Why bother about winter?" said the Grasshopper; we have got plenty of food at present." But the Ant went on its way and continued its toil. When the winter came the Grasshopper had no food and found itself dying of hunger, while it saw the ants
distributing every day corn and grain from the stores they had collected in the summer. Then the Grasshopper knew:

It is best to prepare for the days of necessity
