A Year Old Happy Meal

Ever wondered what a McDonald's Happy Meal looked like after a year?

A fraternity prank I witnessed yeow. Someone left a McDonald's cheeseburger in their drawer over the Summer in New Orleans by accident. All were quite surprised that it did not look any different, or even smell weird, and that was in New Orleans, arguably the most humid city in the US. Their solution? They nuked it and made a freshman eat it! and: no ill effects (At least no obvious ones).

Some interesting data to see would be how long it takes to detox what you'd receive from eating one McDonald's meal...

ugh...

Hum....not sure now that one life will be enough !!! Or like they say "Up to death..."

Nothing that doesn't rot should be called food. If bacteria won't touch it, it's safe to say it's not edible.

Here's a case of a woman eating 78 pieces of silverware over her lifetime, and eventually a stomach ache and the x-ray that followed revealed that its all neatly stacked inside her stomach:

The actual x-ray:

The silverware after it was surgically removed and cleaned up (I hope she didn't add it to her kitchen collection, ew!):

Sounds like this woman needs to detox some "heavy metal"!

But seriously, this kind of thing makes one think - if a human body can be stuffed with 78 pieces of silverware before it starts to complain, then the mere fact that our body isn't obviously in pain doesn't mean we're not filled with ridiculous amounts of toxic garbage (and we know that we are). Although the body does express its pain in other ways, before it goes on red alert and serious pain starts. By then it's usually an emergency - but until then we experience serious fogginess of thoughts, emotional problems, all kinds of aches and pains and diseases that we don't even know are due to our toxins or our body's response to them, etc. So don't wait for the stomach ache before detoxifying!

I feel like you have an excellent point.

Actually, it makes perfect sense.

We fill our bodies will all this toxic junk but a lot of people still walk around saying they feel fine.

Technically, we should be dead from mercury exposure or putting silverware in our stomachs, but we're not.

By the way, WHAT IN THE SAM HILL drives a person to actually swallow SEVENTY EIGHT pieces of silverware???????!

There's also this: 12-Year Old McDonald's Hamburger, Still Looking Good

The McDonald's hamburger on the right is from 2008; the one on the left is from 1996. And they both look fairly edible.

Wellness educator and nutrition consultant Karen Hanrahan has kept a McDonald's hamburger since 1996 to illustrate its nonexistent ability to decay. Aside from drying out and bit and having "the oddest smell," it apparently hasn't changed much in the past 12 years.

This isn't the first time someone kept an uneaten McDonald's hamburger for an extended period of time for the sake of science. Or in the case of the Bionic Burger Museum, multiple burgers for over 19 years. There are even instructions on how to start your own collection of old, self-preserving burgers.

Anyone else have experience with Fast Food That Just Won't Rot?

By the look of the X-ray, it seems that maybe the spoons came before the forks?

Just seems like a lot of spoons are on the bottom.

After seeing those x-rays, I wonder what happens if she did some Jumping Jacks. Would she go Jingle Jangle Jingle? And this thought started a song in my head that WILL NOT GO AWAY... Now I gotta go smoke...

Jingle Jangle Jingle - Gene Autry

Yippy yay, there will be no weddinng

I've got spurs that jingle jangle jingle, as I go riden merrily along, sing oh aintchya glad your single and that song aint so very far from wrong.

I agree with what you said, but I don't ever feel fine after eating McDonald's so-called "food". It doesn't taste like food, it smells weird and gives me horrible stomach aches.

Why we're scared of Happy Meals

137 days between the first and the last photo of this burger : http://www.refinery29.com/happy-meal-art-project.php/slideshow/1/image/0/

Re: Why we're scared of Happy Meals

Just imagine what that plastic food is doing in your body!

Re: Why we're scared of Happy Meals

I have noticed that the latest commercials for Happy Meals have a new message. I guess McD is getting pressure to remove the toys from the meals. Now they say that in each Happy Meal is "hope", with something about donating money to some charity.

I find it funny that when the commercial claims that "in each box is hope", there is a child turning the box over, looking inside, and finding that the box is empty.
