Hi,
I would like to share my progress so far with my reading and diet.
Reading
I came to earth as someone who's afraid. Filled with programs. So far, I think I have made some progress, in trying to understand or atleast recognize some of those programs. Unfortunately, I can't easily pick up a book and read it, and I know that it is a Will issue, I have to do a lot of catching up to reading and I know that I can promise myself that I will do this a hundred times, but I really have to Do it too.
'Till now it all somehow went in a chronological order. I experience something and I read something in one of the recommended books or in the Wave (or on the forum) that happens to be related to what I experienced and then learn from that, or the other way around. But now, I think it's time for me to really finish 'em and write a review about any I finished, I know I'm not gonna like saying that, but I have to do something. I'm going to force myself to atleast read 20 or even 10 each day.
If I want to be a representation of FOTCM I should atleast do this, so that when times get difficult (and now too of course) and knowledge is needed, I could be there to provide it. But this is all just talk now, but atleast I know what my goals are. And I will achieve them.
I used to be a scared person, I didn't trust anyone who was a stranger and always grabbed my mother's cloth so I wouldn't get lost.
But when I was with people I felt comfortable with, I could be "myself". In the village we used to live I was mostly outside, playing with my friends, building our houses in the small bushes, chasing butterflies etc. When we moved to the city I was scared to even go alone outside to buy some food from the supermarket. I lost that freedom of being here.
But as time went by, as DCM gave me the opportunities and moments, I started to be more open and enjoyed being outside more. Everything went perfectly at the right time for me to adjust to this new place, with no rush. The knowledge I gained here also helped me greatly in opening up. And I'm very grateful for that.
And I still have a long road to go, I'm going to start to finish with the Psychology books and I look forward to what I may learn from those books.
I must say that I've learned a LOT from this forum by interacting, reading what others say, how they respond, reading the excerpts from different books that were posted etc. I'm happy to be welcome here even though I have not even finished the Wave, yup, that's true
. I still have some chapters to go. I've been reading the Wave for a couple of years now and I'm still busy with it, and I don't think there is a slower reader than me, but in a way I don't regret it, because somehow, the reading and my experiences happened in an understandable way.
And I learned a lot from the Wave and other parts of books I read.
I, for example, learned to be a critical thinker, because I was not. Not being a critical thinker/acter became really dangerous at some point. But luckily, I came out of that just in time. (But I'm still learning to be a good critical thinker)
Most importantly I got to know who DCM is (and am getting to know Her better every day). I gained knowledge (can I call it that?) of why we're here, what the purpose is of life etc... It is simple, yet complex. Thinking about it, makes me really sad but I also find it beautiful in a way.
But that kind of knowledge, or learning, really is calm to the mind. And it took away quite some fear of me. I am much less afraid as I used to be.
Diet
I also learned about making diet changes. I first started eliminating products with E-numbers in 'em. Then all the other evil things. And I've been evil-free (atleast the main things) for quite some time now. I have to say though, around 1.5/2 months ago I made the mistake of eating something that had wheat in it, and it gave me such a headache, there was a thick mist in my head and I was like Oh no... What is even worse is that my right eye was going back in its bad condition :(
I definitely learned from that one, no cheating. And trust me, I won't. I'm still trying to get my right eye back in its stable condition, which is happening, but slowly. I can't start with the Ultra-Simple Diet yet, because I'm still searching and saving for a good waterfilter and I also have to find a way to buy cheap organic chicken, because it's pretty expensive here.
So what I have mostly as meat now are Organic haddock fillets, which are cheaper than the chicken and mackerel. But I actually think that should be okay, even though it wasn't listed in the USD. I have read they are among the fishes with the lowest mercury levels and they taste good too!
And I also need to save up for some cooking materials that will help with the cooking. But I try to stay away from things that are known to trigger allergic reactions. I do however eat cashews, I really love 'em (they're cheap also) and I haven't had any reaction whatsoever with those, but I have experienced headache from eating flax seeds (I don't eat them anymore, but I will try them again when testing for allergies, maybe I wasn't observing right that time). I hope it's okay for me eating cashews.
I also experienced my first allergic skin reaction! when I put some apricot oil on my skin, it started itching really really bad and it turned red.
As I'm writing this I just ate one organic apricot (to test) and my whole body is starting to be a little itchy... (added: yup, my left arm is red now and itchy) :/ I think I should avoid them until I start with the USD. (added: it's been an hour now I think and the reaction is gone now)
I'm also going to try to minimize my intake of bananas, since they can make me feel a little foggy.
Benefits from my diet changes are: can concentrate better (when studying for example), am less irritable, can think more clearly, have more energy, happier.
I'll let you guys know how it goes. Any posts are welcome.
