Hi guys, I have poor activity for 3 days now, something unexpected happend on my course last wednesday when my teacher told me to redo an entire test as he said it was missing a lot of text and important points, due to this, this week and upcoming week has become really difficult for me regarding upcoming exams and school projects and now when I also had to redo an entire test my energy had to be directed toward that, my activity on this forum and everything related to it will therefore be poor.

I am trying to keep up with the posts and the fast activity on this forum during lunchbreak, but I can not contribute until I have dealt with certain school issues this upcoming week.

I think this kind of thing is normal, and sometimes stuff just comes up that we have to take care of first before we can come back and participate here on the forum. It's all lessons :) Good luck with it all Bo, you've got our support, and we look to seeing you back when everything has been taken care of!
 
Been in the same place myself for the last few weeks--finally (knock on wood) got a consistent internet connection and then the work obligations increased dramatically!
There are times when we have to catch up with outside stuff and be away for a while, and then it is time to catch up here!!! Good luck Bo with both as things have been happening so fast here it is
hard to pick up on all the threads after being away--I am still catching up and have backed off posting much until I find out what is happening. Good luck on your test.

Hi guys thanks for the support!

tomorrow I will be having a conversation about my course which I am attending at the moment, I wanted to have a good talk with my coach about what I want and which directions I want to go.

I am following a teacher education, and besides going to school one also needs to follow a course , at this course one needs to make assignments related to the course, there are 7 assignments.

I am being jugded very heavily compared to my other classmates, because their courses are easier then mine(their tutors are more accepting about the way they make their assignments compared to mine), I made a mistake 7/8 months ago by choosing this course, I could have chosen one which would have been easier, but I didn't knew at the time.

For example, my classmates have to deliver 2 pages in A4 size, while I made 14 pages in A4 for the same assignment, but it isn't enough according to my tutor, they are expecting to much from me and I can't give them that and I don't think it's worth it either.

The other reason is also that my supervisor(tutor) is supposed to be in the same class as I am and supervise me, but no she isn't she is in a different class and she judges me by what she hears from her collegeaus, so she never witnessess how I act and do in the class , I complained about this and told them that this is subjective and not fair, why can't she observe me with her own eyes?

They first told me they didn't knew why they had chosen this kind of system, but a few hours later they suddenly changed their story and said, ''We trust our collegeaus, so we are sure that whatever they discuss with your tutor it is very trustworthy''

I have to work to get money and pay for my living, I also have to do exams and make projects at my school, I can't spend the same amount of energy with my course, it is to much, I don't have the time for it.

I also asked her yesterday if she could give me a percentage about my succes rate, if I can finish this course clean without having to redo it? She said: ''I don't know, I can't give you a percentage, but you have to DO A LOT in order to finish it.''

Well I am not going to waste my time with this course, I don't have the time nor the energy to prove myself worthy for that course, I can perhaps start another course within a few weeks (sixth grade, like my classmates) and do my assignments there.

Some background:

I am doing a course for a high school(Eighth grade).

My schoolmates are doing a course for a high school in Sixth grade.

While I performed excellent in my last course in 2008/09 I wanted to experience a higher grade experience, but apparently this was a bad choice.

I will wait and see how my talk with my coach will go tomorrow , my tutor will be there as well.

if you just don’t have time nor energy enough to do that course (Eight grade) I can’t find any reason to continue.

Anyhow whatever this supervisor my judge you on. The fact of the matter is, it’s your choose. Or are you required to get through some of those courses? In order to go to the next?
if there are just based on study-points, then it’s just your choose. They can only give you advice.

Anyway if this supervisor begins to judge you on what she hears from her other collegeaus. The fact stays on paper that you performed excellent in your previous course. Simple. That’s shows you have the dedication and discipline.

Next to that, working for your own living is something that really can justifies the situation you are now into. They have to take that into account. It’s time consuming. Simple.

I guess they will try to steer you into directions. But just feel and think how you really do about the situation and ask for advice. It’s about you not them. You have to lead the discussing not the other way around.

Next to that, I am not sure by far but, you can always as a teacher choose to go for the Eight Grade course right? If you really don’t have the energy left to focus there on for now can’t you just do so when you have the available time?

The course is a part of getting my diploma, I had a talk with them today, I told them that to much is being asked from me, I gave examples of what my classmates have to do, the thing really is, no matter what I said about the negative aspects of their guidance system and that the feedback is really bad , they told me I was blaming the teachers, but yeah whatever, I can't criticize them for their mistakes, the teachers are all good buddies with eachother, no way they are doing it wrong! /sarcasm off

But I also honestly told them that for a big part it is my mistake to have chosen this, the lack of preparation is due to not having time, because there is to much pressure being put on me, especially in this course compared to the others, I see my mistake and now I want to correct it as soon as possible.

I made an appointment for next monday with my tutor and she will tell me where I am standing on a scale between 1 and 10 (10 being best), if she says 2 or 3 I will leave the course and make sure I start fast with another.

They are indeed doing so, they even suggested me to drop my job and put all of my energy into this course.

The funny thing is that yesterday I had to give an english lesson on speaking, my tutor EXPECTED me to fail hard, but I didn't, I actually suprised them.

They said ''It is suprising that your teaching was very well executed, usually when we see a poor preparation we expect a bad presentation.''

But I made them clear that I don't have the time to give them a good preparation on paper and it's not worth the time either, I can do it somewhere else with much less pressure put upon me.

What they are expecting is really way to much.

Anyway, next monday I will be able to make my choice.

How annoying, I mean you are partly blaming there system. but it seems they take it personal.

Your job is your living situation. You are dependent on it. How can that be ignored! They really aren’t taking you into consideration.

- All I can say, you know what is in your reach. Next to that I hope this totur will be honest from where you are standing.
