"WASHINGTON - Some of the U.S. forces likely to remain in Iraq after President Barack Obama fulfills his pledge to withdraw combat troops would still have a combat role fighting suspected terrorists, the Pentagon said Wednesday."

This might not be the place for this but I wig out on how some things, in terms of how the media.. I dunno, can print stuff that is just beyond stupid.. or at least that is how my reading instrument is becoming able to decipher/understand it. The above is just one of what could be a bajillion times I/you/a person might wonder, did that just pass - as as a sentence - on a news website without being put to any perspective of reality?

How can " U.S. forces -- remain in Iraq" if Obama "fulfills his pledge to withdraw combat troops"? ([insert] question mark X1,000 /end insert :P )

How do you fight someone you only suspect is a terrorist? Shouldn't it be stated as: Some U.S. troops will stay as a "reactionary" force to anything suspicious and will "REACT" to anything in a violent and crushing manner? Or something like that? What kind of flipping jack-arse-ville kind of media is ..I dunno, squirming around (?) out there? How about, "Obama, unable to fulfill his pledge..?"

Makes me think along the lines of the saying about, "but aren't you going to kiss me first?" Talk about reading something and feeling stupider afterward! As a side note, I'm so thankful for signs-of-the-times, at least I don't always have to feel like I'm being dumbed down. Sorry if that came across as patronizing or preaching to the choir, but such blatant, sinful misuse of language is appalling. While I'm not one to be clear or direct always, at least I can attempt to be clearer. That news however, coming from such a so called prestigious source, reads like mental toxin. If that is the proper use of the word.

Toxin–noun
any poison produced by an organism, characterized by antigenicity in certain animals and high molecular weight, and including the bacterial toxins that are the causative agents of tetanus, diphtheria, etc., and such plant and animal toxins as ricin and snake venom.

If not, close enough.
