Well, the Banks are increasingly signaling difficulties in lending assets, and more and more countries are looking for greener pastures...

A crowd funded documentary (71 min.) has been released developing the arguments pro British exit of the EU:

This docu is also available here: http://www.brexitthemovie.com/

Brexit: The Movie lays bare the nature of the European Union - and shows why millions of Brits are voting to leave it.

Brexit: The Movie blows apart the pro-EU propaganda, and makes the case for an independent, confident and outward-looking Britain.

You can watch Brexit: The Movie as a feature-length film, or topic by topic in bite-sized, shareable sections.

Thank you, Palinurus, for sharing. I am not at all well-versed on this topic, but what I did notice that since it all started Britain made several "revelations" regarding nefarious role of US and NATO in Europe. And although it can be considered beneficial and a "good thing", for me it looks like another power game between psychos, "imperialists" (let's not forget Britain's imperial past) and others who have some sort of agenda in the next grand geopolitical shift.

I am watching the movie in the background now, and it does explain very well how EU is no less corrupt than any "banana republic", but I can't help but wonder why this wasn't revealed before? Why now? That's what bothers me and kind of proves that it is no more than another political machination. After all, after separation British people will continue to believe Camerons, Blairs and such. So what's the point? But then, as I said, I am not at all an expert. :)

Neither am I, but I think that you're probably right about the 'power games'. It seems that, after World War II, the Anglo-Imperial types chose Germany to be in charge of Europe, and purposefully gave Britain a cheerleading role. No doubt those who relish Britain's imperial past want their 'time in the sun' again. It's crazy that, no matter what's going on in the world, even if it was announced on the news that a comet was 15 minutes away, that that's all these creeps seem capable of thinking about.

But at the same time many people see these referendums as the only way to force the EU's totalitarian hand - for example the organizers of the Dutch referendum on Ukraine stated that their main goal was to deepen the wedge against the EU. There's a big conservative push to regain some semblance of national autonomy. The same thing happened in Greece. A lot of people are sick of the Orwellian nightmare that is the EU, and probably feel the need to play power games to get out.

I think the whole thing is a fiasco - the design of the EU by a bunch of Cold Warriors in the US, all the way up to the current desire for everyone to escape the lumbering nightmare it's become. Those who like to see chaos are probably having a lot of fun right now. The cracks in the EU's foundation are very deep, the refugee crisis continues to turn things upside down, and the people are becoming more frustrated by the day.

Keit and Hesper, thank you both for sharing your thoughts on this matter. Power games, indeed!

Nevertheless, for as long as the process of this referendum lasts there will be ample opportunity for all involved to learn more --and more directly through personal involvement-- about the true state of affairs in politicis on local, national and international levels.

In The Netherlands, for instance, many have opened their eyes --even if only for a little while and on a limited scope-- during the Ukraine referendum and even more so in the aftermath of it, seeing national politicians try to obfuscate the issue and stash their obligation to promptly act in line with the results.

Like in the Greek case, all these possible lessons may be only of limited importance in the long run but they are invaluable in themselves as learning opportunities for many. OSIT.
