Antisemitic

Hi all
I'm not sure if this topic would be better placed in the Language Section, or the FOTCM Section (there is one right? I've sent off my application by post and email but don't have access yet) of the forum.

Reading the Psychopathy Questions thread and the FOTCM and EE on Facebook! thread.....I started thinking about how going public like this could open up lines of attack.....and it dawned on me how the word antisemitic is used as a shield for (things done in the name of) the Jewish religion....could we not utilise this word, or perhaps have a similar word to shut down attacks? i.e. use the PTB's tools against them.

I imagine a (rather naive) conversation going something like.....

"You believe 9/11 was an inside job? Your crazy!" reply "Are being antisemitic?"
Obviousely this shouldn't replace a proper discussion of the facts and not talking to people that won't listen/haven't asked for the information.....but I can see the potential for attacks so this 'defence' the PTB use crossed my mind...can we utilise it?.....should we utilise it?...is there danger utilising it (or a very similar word) in our defence?

Q: (H) In reading through the transcripts in the 9/11 book, I was confused about the genetic tweak that was made 130,000 years ago. Was that a tweak that was done to all the Semites, so it wasn’t only the Jews?
A: Question is what is a Semite?

My thinking on this may not be totally clear (I'm still trying to turn it over in my mind, and my mind is a little foggy today), but hopefully the ideas sound? I do wonder however if I've read this idea in another thread and just forgotten about it? Hm

I see what you're getting at Redfox, though antisemetic doesn't really work in this context. Ignorant does, since anyone who thinks people who study/discuss conspiracies are 'crazy' are actually ignorant of the facts - many simply because they just don't want to know. It'd cost them too much 'brain-space' and might start to upset their world-view.

from m-w.com

Ignorant - 1 a : destitute of knowledge or education <an ignorant society>; also : lacking knowledge or comprehension of the thing specified <parents ignorant of modern mathematics> b : resulting from or showing lack of knowledge or intelligence <ignorant errors>
2 : unaware, uninformed

One thing that comes to mind here is external consideration, many people choose their ignorance, and we should accept that if we're trying to be externally considerate. The problem, I think, rises from the negative connotation of the term ignorant, and we risk coming across as condescending - a program I have when I speak about things most people are unawares of. This immediately shuts down an individuals ability to assimilate new info and reinforces old defensive pathways - something we'd want to avoid.

As always the circumstances under which the conversation is held matter. For defensive purposes, IE when someone is attacking us as 'crazy', we can always fall back onto the facts of the matter, discuss them openly, and show how conclusions were drawn therefrom. That may or may not work, depending again on the circumstances, however if that doesn't work acknowledging them as 'ignorant' is completely justified imho.

Thanks for that puck, you're right. I think the facebook thing threw me through a loop yesterday, and I ended up getting emotionally defensive.

Hi, yesterday we shipped all the new members' certificates and cards, and today Laura will give you all access to the FOTCM section of the forum. You should also have received a welcome e-mail from us. Welcome! :D

Well, whenever I get that question, I explain to people that I'm talking about Zionists, NOT Jews, and provide them with some links. If they are interested they'll read them. If they don't and keep arguing, I just ignore them or "agree" to end the discussion.
