my friends at work and i watched this video and were completely amazed.
we are all in the field of computer generated art and some of the guys and gals thought at first that the aurora must have been a digital overlay.

auroras always have that 4d-bleed-throughy feel to me.
:)

note that the footage speed is sped up.

Mmm, yes I saw this on Facebook the other day. It really is quite extraordinary! I'd highly recommend taking a minute or two to watch this full screen in full HD resolution.

Our planet is so beautiful, isnt it? :) it's such a shame that we tend to forget this among the chaos going on all around.

Beautiful video, thanks for sharing!

thanks Jason, i'll try watching it in full res.

Bim: I totally agree. It's a beautiful planet. I feel that if more people had access to beautiful images of earth from space,
there might evolve amongst us a more macro-cosmic awareness.

p.s. beautiful images of other planets in the solar system are also quite awe-inspiring.
:)

British astronaut Tim Peake via his Twitter profile this week shared some magical photos aurora borealis from space :)

Thanks for sharing casper! This type of things make you realize how immense the universe is and puts things into perspective.

Beautiful. Interesting to watch the lightening fields, too. It brings to mind a sprinkling of salt here and there. The music adds so much emotion to the experience of seeing it.
