Australian PM jokes about doomsday

This is strange. How come a Primer Minister say things like this? Australian sense of humor? Electoral discourse surely but... Is she ok mentally? :shock:
 
Well I can't comment on her mental state but she is not very popular (she was not voted in by the public but took power when the old PM Kevin Rudd was ejected by his party).

She hasn't done anything like this before, and making jokes like this is not common for any previous PMs.
