Bacteria & aliens

After reading about bacteria & parasites and how much affect & control it has over our behavior and though processes, i can't help to wonder if bacteria could be what we perceive as aliens ?
Take over humans could not be any easier, make our body more suitable for bacteria habitat & less resistant, and it got us controlled right under our nose.
