This whole situation (paedophilia) makes me indignant. You do NOT F$*# children!!!!! Absolutely unacceptable! Yet, this isn't the case. Granted, there are major efforts to sweep it under the rug (plus massive programming). But where is the outrage? I am not sure whether people are even aware of it. I only knew, because a Brit told me about it in the early nineties.
More and more people seem to be aware of the problem of pedophilia, though. On a regular basis the press devotes attention to this topic when pedocriminals are arrested who are teachers or work in day-care etc.

I made a mistake, SMM, apparently the age of consent is now 16. They changed it after Dutroux. The Dutch organisation for gays, called COC, has been lobbying government to lower the age of consent to 12 again. They have also stated that it is okay to possess some child porn in some cases. So, it is clear that this organisation after its initial rejection of pedos has been co-opted. No surprise there, still it is shocking.
