A friend posted some interesting things on facebook last night, and I don't know enough to evaluate his ideas. However they are very interesting reading and should provoke a thoughtful discussion.

Hi Inquorate,

Had a look at the text - my feeling is that it's BS.

The reasons:

First screen shot he cites an Arabic document from 350AD.

There are several problems with that, namely that it's unlikely to be an original, thus having been copied over several times, the reason being that the oldest manuscripts in Arabic are thought to be from around the 6th century AD, before that Arabic was not the official language, but Greek.

Also "bism'illah" is a quranic term. I'm sure that Mohammed, the prophet didn't invent the name "Allah" as such, it probably was some "pagan" (and thus most likely polytheistic) god he adopted to Islam. But "bism'illah" is an islamic concept - "in the name of Allah" implies there's only one God, a concept that probably was absent in the pre-islamic period, which probably was more along polytheistic lines.

So his whole argument rests on some mistakes or misconceptions.

The other part is that he takes the Bible quite verbatim. I read a book a while ago about "mistranslations" in the Bible, which was quite interesting and erudite, having a few interesting points. I asked Laura about this and her answer was, that the Bible is a concotion from the get go, so all these arguments, however clever and learnt, are based on a wrong asumption, namely that the "original" from which the translation was done, was somewhat closer to the truth, to the originally written document, which we know for the Bible is not the case.

And I suspect, given the nature of our overlords, the same is true for Islam and the Quran, written for a specific reason, namely to enslave and drug us with another monotheistic religion, which as we can see, is a good match to Christianism, the perfect weapon to pit the two against each other and wage continuous warfare on humanity, just as Christianism is doing as well.

So my take on that is that this is just another antimuslim diatribe, just what the powers to be want, us Christians versus them Muslims, to cover the fact, that the real problem lies with psychopaths running the show.

Anyway, I am not an islamic scholar, these are just my impressions, but maybe someone has another take on that.
