BioMegnetisim / Electro Magnetisim

Jedi Master
I suffer terribly from Tinnitus, a constant ringing or sometimes humming in the ear.
I had to travel to Chile last week for work, and one of my friends who lives there is treated by a man who practices, what they called in Spanish BioMagnetismo.

My pal suggested I saw this chap and as a gift paid for me to see the therapist who placed magnets on parts of my head and body to diagnose potential issues, and vigorously shook my feet whilst calling out parts of my body and organs in Spanish - part of his procedure for diagnosis.

He spoke only Spanish, and my Spanish is passable, but not fluent, so I guess didn't get the best out of it, but he was spot on about my Sinuses and said that might be the root of my Tinnitus trouble.

He also suggested I loose loads of weight - (I am on the Ultra Simple Diet- started a few days ago)
However, ever since that evening, I have felt really really tired and very grumpy and tetchy. General tiredness may be a factor as it was a long way and a short stay, but I have had plenty of time to catch up on Sleep and will follow some of the advice on this useful thread :

http://www.cassiopaea.org/forum/index.php?topic=13612.0

Has anyone any experience of this therapy and is it the same as Electro Magnetic Therapy? Is there a chance I might need some further alignment as a follow up to the one session treatment I had last week – might Reiki help?

I missed dong the EE sessions last week, but will be doing it tonight.
I am sure that will help, but I do feel very low indeed, which is unusual for me.

Advice would be gratefully received

Thank you

I don't have experience with the treatment you describe, but a quick search on tinitus here, came up with the following :
Conditions relieved with infrared treatments in Japan:

* Chronic middle ear inflammation or infection - In one clinical study of Chronic Serous Otitis Media pathogenic bacteria were isolated on 70% of the subjects studied.
* Sore throats
* Tinitus - Chronic severe case cleared with ten infrared treatments.
* Nose bleeding
From this threadhttp://www.cassiopaea.org/forum/index.php?topic=8813.msg78792#msg78792 , which describes Infrared saunas from this website : _http://www.farinfraredsauna.net/categories/infraredsauna/articles/infrared_sauna_effective.shtml

I don't know if you have looked into it yet, but maybe it would be worth a try.

Hello Alphonse

I am unaware of any treatments, but i also experience a mild form of ringing in the ears. Fortunately, it is at a level that it really does not bother unless something draws my attention to it. (your post, for example, but nothing as severe as the problem you describe.)

A quick search on the forum indicates that quite a few suffer from tinnitus.

As i mentioned, i have a minor ringing in the ears, but have also discovered a rather unusual reaction when i practice Laura's Eíriú-Eolas - Breathing Program.

I will cut and paste the part of the post mentioning it.

I finally managed to stay awake for three breathing program sessions. Each time at the point during the faster round breathing
my body starts to 'vibrate' and continues through the first Prayer of the Soul.
(gradually diminishes at that point)

I need to mention that most of my adult life i have had a constant ringing in my ears, but am pretty much oblivious to it unless something brings it to my attention. It is a
fairly high pitch in both ears and i have gotten used to it long ago.

When the vibration starts, the ringing in my ears seems to lower in frequency
until it melds with the vibrations. The vibration is not a physical tremble but quite noticeable and not unpleasant. Difficult for me to put into words.

I was wondering if meditation would help your situation. Just a thought and sorry i can't be more helpful.

Best
glen

Thanks Helle, and thanks Glenmain

My wife bought an infrared sauna, but I haven't used it yet - i will start this weekend and if you are interested i can let youknow what happens after 10 or so sessions.

Glen - sorry if I made you more aware of your tinnitus yesterday. Thanks for your concern, We do the EE full programme twice a week, and as of tonight I'm going to do the meditation part every night too.

fingers crossed,

thanks again guys

I'm very interested in how it turns out with the infrared sauna. I hope it'll turn out to be a success for you.

Tinnitus remedies

Hi alphonse and everyone. I searched for tinnitus and found this thread. I haven't seen too much about remedies or cures for it. I have had it since a little kid. I had some ear infections when I was a baby and small child. I've listened to loud music before, but it was always with others and I myself don't listen to things too loud.

I wear earplugs at work, because I work with loud things like buffers and vacuums. But it seems lately my tinnitus has worsened a little. At night, and I wear earplugs when I sleep too, I notice that the hissing sound is a little more noticeable and annoying. So I looked up some things that may help it.

Ginkgo extract is widely prescribed by holistic healers as a treatment for a range of health issues including memory and concentration problems, confusion, depression, anxiety, dizziness, tinnitus and headache.

Ginko is mentioned at a few sources other than this.

Here http://www.home-remedies-for-you.com/remedy/Tinnitus.html says some have used lemon drops and saline solution in the ear.

Take 300 mg. a day of Coenzyme Q10 This powerful antioxidant is crucial in the effectiveness of the immune system and the circulation to the ears.

The same site mentions goldenseal, which was advised that Ark take for fluoride detox.

Then there's a site about DMSO for tinnitus. It only gives a little blurb though and not much detail:

The following appeared in a recent article in Alternatives regarding
tinnitus:

"Ask your doctor to review the following article, Annals of
the New York Academy of Sciences 75:243:468:74. 'In this
study,15 patients were suffering from tinnitus. Every four
days 2 milliliters of a medicated DMSO solution containing
anti-inflammatory and vasodilatory compounds were applied
locally to the external auditory canals of their ears. They
were also given an intramuscular injection of DMSO at the
same time.

'After one month, 9 of the 15 patients had a total cessation
of the tinnitus and it didn't return during the one year
observation period. It was diminished in two others and in
the remaining four it became only an occasional problem
instead of permanent (cold temperatures seemed to be the
main factor causing it to return).

'In addition, all of the five patients that were suffering
from vertigo noted significant improvement...'

It also doesn't mention which anti-inflammatory and vasodilatory compounds were used, and I don't think I'm up for injecting DMSO into myself . I cannot find that paper cited in the article at the New York Academy of Sciences site either.

I think I might try the supplements like ginko or doing the drops. I wonder if straight diluted DMSO would work?

Hi 3D Student,

I've been using a straight diluted DMSO solution (25%) and it seems to help. DMSO per se is both anti-inflammatory and a vasodilatory. I'll see if I can find the paper to see what they used though.

Me neither, is way too old: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1055561

Are you sure that's not the same one? On this page, they say the article was published online in 2006. Here is the first page of the article. _http://www3.interscience.wiley.com/journal/119654508/abstract

Hope that doesn't confuse.

Thank you, I'll look into it later. Now for some reason is not listed as accessible.

Just to clarify, the original article was published around 1972?, but then I think it republished online in 2006. So perhaps the "Alternatives" article wasn't aware of this?

Thanks Psyche. I think I will try the DMSO. I'm going to order one of the big gallon jugs from dmso.net. I remember Laura telling of the beneficial effects of DMSO, especially the detoxifying part when ingested.

I've put a 75% solution on and in my ears once a few days ago. But I found it to be extremely itchy. I couldn't resist scratching it. I think it might be best to go with a 50% or 25% solution even.

And a few weeks ago I had completed a month of putting a 25% solution in and around my ears. Unfortunately, there has been no improvement in my tinnitus. Perhaps it would work on others, but I just wanted to report my results.
