Blue pages in Laura's books?

I hope this isn't too trivial a question to ask, but I noticed that the pages in TSHOTW and "high strangeness" have a blue tint to them. Especially near the 'binding' of the pages.

If this is so, then is it just an aesthetic feature? It's quite pleasant and calming to the eye and it seems to stimulate thought. OSIT :)

Which country did you buy the books in? I know the North American editions are just printed on white paper, but maybe the UK ones are different?

Both secret history and high strangeness were purchased from the UK.

I tried closing the book together just enough to see the pages, and it appears that the blue 'tint' goes through all the paper. It's only more noticeable near the bind because naturally the pages are right up against each other.

Whether this is of any import or just a factor of how the book was printed, it is cool anyhow. Almost like the pages are glowing! :)

Blue huh, hmmm:

A 2009 study found that subjects solved twice as many insight puzzles when surrounded by the color blue, since it leads to more relaxed and associative thinking. Red, on other hand, makes people more alert and aware, so it is a better backdrop for solving analytic problems.

It's just accidental, I'm sure. Our printer also uses white paper all the time, but in this run they might have made a mistake.

The same for PR/RPP editions; they were all printed on regular offset paper. If it looks more blueish, so be it, especially when you like it. :)

Ah! Thank you for the info :)

I think it gives the books a nice feel when reading. An interesting coincidence that Laura's work is so revelationary that it would have a cool mind expanding blow glow to it! ;)
