Bug bite last month - antibiotics?

I've been lazy to post this, and it seems like it wasn't that serious. But I was bitten by a tick in 2012 and waited a year and started getting Lyme symptoms and had to take antibiotics for 8 months to get rid of it. So these kinds of things are on my radar. The only real embarrassing part is where it bit me.

So it was Friday, August 8th and I was at work. I think it was a little before or after lunch, I can't recall. But I had an itch near my groin. There's enough privacy at my cubicle to take care of it so I scratched it and thought not much of it. But then it came again and it was pretty drastic. But I scratched it again and it was gone. I was thinking it was normal male itch, or some kind of skin dryness. But still the amount of pain was a bit unusual.

That evening in the shower I noticed I had a raised red bump about .75" by 3/8" or 18mm by 9 mm. It seemed like a spider bite. There was a white dot in the middle like a pimple would have. But it never got bigger and there was no black dot, rash, or anything else. So I put some colloidal silver on it after the shower.

The bump went away after a few days, and it didn't really bother me at all. Whatever had bitten me either died or fell off when I scratched it. I think ticks are pretty hardy buggers that stay latched on, so it may have been a spider, or ant?

I saw this thread and it was nothing like that. Just relatively small and localized. And I had no fever or psychological symptoms. So it seemed pretty benign.

So like I said, these things "bug" me, having had Lymes. And I've waited over a month now and it's practically not even there, where my old tick bite will still itch from time to time, 2 years post antibiotic treatment. But just wondering if I should try to take some antibiotics for it? I think I might have difficulty going to the regular doctor, and especially after so long and no visible evidence. Any thoughts? Thanks for reading.

The 2002 bite was in the woods or in any other area? If this was an "office bug" and if you didn't notice any particular symptoms, I wouldn't necessarily make the Lyme connection. However, if it has been awhile since your last check up, perhaps you can go to the doc, mention the story and ask for some blood tests. Not that standard blood tests for Lyme's disease are reliable, but at least you can see your liver function and other stuff.

The bite prior to this was in 2012, a few years ago. I was not in the woods and I was just at work that day. One of my co-workers lives in a wooded area and another co-worker has even seen a tick crawling near his desk before! Sometimes we sit in each other's chairs, so since that incident I am vigilant about that and check my chair carefully in the event of a chair swap.

It's been a while since I've had blood tests, so I think it might be a good idea to get them. Oh yes, I know about their reliability. Even the expensive Igenex tests gave me false negatives, as my symptoms said something was definitely going on and I was sick. The antibiotics eventually knocked out whatever it was. Thank you for the advice!

That doesn't sound very nice with ticks seen crawling at your workplace. Perhaps, you do it already, but I would make sure to have a good shower if not a bath every day to wash off any ticks.

Have you thought of essential oils that you could put on your office chair and your body, that would work as tick repellent? According to this site, rose geranium oil works well as a tick repellent: _http://www.primallyinspired.com/easy-natural-tick-repellent-that-really-works-essential-oils/

That was a one time event at work, and I do sometimes check the carpet carefully. I have some essential oils that I mix up with some walnut oil as the carrier. I usually put it on my shoes, socks, and pant legs if I go in a wooded area, which is rare.
