Butcher's burglaries epidemic in France ; are we back to 1788 ?

Around 12 butcher’s reported robbed in France in 2012. This is the list of the shops attacked.

What strikes me is that mainly food is stolen, up to 30 kg of meat in a single burglary, not only money. The links are in French (except the last one from the british Telegraph), but it is to give an idea of the situation. Furthermore, please take a look at the photos of anti-theft devices on meat, cheese and butter in some french supermarkets. I can’t believe it. Is it the same in your country? Hopefully it will stop or at least remain "clean" robberies like these ones. Isn't the next step violence for food ?

To conclude, an article of the Telegraph is entitled “Unilever sees return to poverty in Europe”.

Wow, that really is striking. In the UK I've seen a few stores put the 'peel off tags' on some fish/meat, but never anything quite like what is happening in France.

It certainly looks that way to me, but at least grass fed bones still only cost pennies! :)

I expect that figure to more than double in the next year.

At least they have the sense to go for real food!

How true, maybe just another apparent "coincidence"... Same procedure with anchovies here, even those at a fair value.
