Reading this, it saddens me. I cannot explain it, but lately I have been feeling empathy for just about every creature on this planet. For example, I have been stung 3 or 4 times in the past couple of years by Africanized Bees and suffered swelling and infection. But, I still will not destroy the hives (as they are in the desert, away from people) and still have no fear of them. I cannot explain it, but I really do feel that humans can live with every other creature on this planet without having to dominate or destroy or subjugate. It all comes down to RESPECT for life. And if you mess with "respect for life" then you are messing with YOUR life and the lives of those immediately around you.

At least, that is what I have determined through my personal experience, FWIW.

It's really sad. Bees are amazing! Truly interesting animals, I drink bees pollen with juice and use their honey too! The pollen has an amazing high protein level.
I also been feeling sensitized about animal life and maintaining respect for their habitat and stuff, I don't kill spiders or other insects (except mosquitoes) unless they are on a threatening position. It sometimes shocked me when people just kill insects, for no reason but disgust, I think that's just rude.

The story saddens me as well :( especially considering the fact that bees have been slowly dying out and they're such an important part of Earth's ecosystem, and a stupid accident like this lessens their numbers even more...
