Re: Caótica Ana

Hi hnd, I've not seen the movie, the synopsis sounds interesting. what it is that you liked about it and what was the general message of the film?

The language of the film, first of all. It is poetic and highly symbolic. Also, I read that it is considered a movie with a feminist perspective with some, but I think it is not so simple. I've started reading `The Woman Who Run With Wolves` a few days ago, and Estés talks about a powerful force living in every woman,I guess that's what I saw as I follow the story of Ana,and I felt it deeply. Besides, it has a lot of pieces of truth, it seems as if all through her `lives`, she was abused or killed by psychopaths, the movie seems to blame men,but what I saw was psychopathy in action, after all her father and Said are also men, but not one of that kind who only knows how to take, but doesn't know how to give... From another perspective I saw Ana as a symbol of our Mother Earth,Gaia.

It is sad that she becomes more and more chaotic as she learns about all the lives she spent on the planet, and though I don't know if it is really possible to remember such a lot of past lives, after seeing the movie I thought it would have a negative effect if it were possible. On the other hand,as far as I know, some people can solve their problems through discovering their past life/lives through hypnosis.

Finally, whenever I'm fascinated with a piece of art and creativity, something happens inside,it rises and rises me, too and it is something holy. That's why I couldn't describe it in the morning.

That's all i can say. I'm happy that you are interested. I hope I didn't spoil it by writing about my impressions.

Not at all. When presenting Movies, It is good for other forumites to give your impressions so that they know whether it is worth watching or not.

I've watched this film yesterday, i think it's very interesting and somewhat extravagant, enjoyed much.
I actually find similarity with many situations of Ana's in reproducing moments of her's past lives.
It might be worth of watching.

I'll add info once more, from IMDB:
