"The Russian spacecraft Progress M-27M, a space freighter unmanned went out of control after a failure in its orbit last week, re-enter the Earth's atmosphere between 7 and 11 May, "depending on conditions weather ", as indicated by the Johnson Space Center (Houston, USA).
Most of the ship will be destroyed in the air by friction and "drop zone remains not to burn in the atmosphere, it can be anything in the range between 52 degrees south and 52 north latitude" (so, in almost anywhere but near the polar caps).
Most of the vehicle will not survive the high temperatures of atmospheric re-entry, but there may be parts that resist the filament, such as heavy latching mechanism on the International Space Station (ISS), which the freighter was heading with supplies . In any case, the US space agency says it is "highly unlikely to pose a threat to anyone." There are rare and usually uncontrolled reentry debris that may fall from a ship falling into the sea, desert or in unpopulated areas, experts add: "Not one person has ever been injured by a piece of re-entry of a satellite or a piece space junk in six decades of spaceflight "is statistically very difficult, but not impossible ...
The problems of the Progress M-27M and emerged into orbit, after separating Soyuz rocket on his way to the space station to automatically dock there later on Tuesday. Some solar panels and antenna were deployed, but apparently not all, and the control center failed to establish stable communication with the ship to send commands and receive data. At first, relying on help recover the freighter to dock with the ISS was delayed, but eventually a few hours after it went missing. The images received from a camera showed the ship was unduly rapid turnover, with the Earth's surface and the sun appearing and disappearing of the frame."
* The bolded area is the likely landing area. *:
