Charming psychopaths

The Force is Strong With This One
Over the years, I've seen a number of films or documentaries about special people who are often labeled "amazing" "incredible" or some other superlative. They invariably tend to be charming, self-directed, impulsive and very outspoken. People seem to be mesmerized by people who are devoid of inhibitions, often say outrageous things, and seem to be able to do whatever they want, any time they want. It seems to me that some of these people are exhibiting the characteristics of a psychopath.

The term "psychopath" often conjures up images of serial killers, but as I understand it, most psychopaths are not killers at all, but they often enjoy great success in business, politics and show-business to name a few. Many people are irresistibly drawn to these types of people, and it makes for good entertainment, but is it really healthy on our part to revere such people?

Absolutely and I don't know if you heard of this book yet, but Political Ponerology covers these parts very precisely, Lobaczewski would call them spell binders, but some others may be narcissists too. Also Robert Hares/Paul Babiaks book Snakes in suits goes into that direction. There are also many topics about psychopaths on this forum and as well on sott.net.

The world we are in right now is a result of it imo (of allowing them to "lead" people), so that's the reason people should get educated about the topic of psychopathy and how it effects them.
