I ran across this interesting bit of news printed in the The Patriot Ledger in Massachusetts. Ciera Durkin was an accountant in the U.S. Army stationed in Afghanastan. According to the story she was responsible for paying all the soldiers stationed in that country. She had told her family that she had discovered some things during the course of her job that she did not like and had made enemies because she spoke up about them. She also told her sister that if she died the family should ask questions about her death. She was found outside the church on the base with a gun shot would to the head. The army initially hid the details, but later changed their story and said Ciera had died due to non combat injuries. According to her family she never left that base for any reason and therefore felt safe while being in that country. The full story is here:

Her family is aksing questions and John Kerry has asked the army for a full investigation into Ciera's death. It makes one wonder what Ciera discovered that cost her her life, or did she die because she spoke up?

It will be interesting to see how the Army spins this one.
