Clarification on Moderator & Admin users

A recent thread touched on the topic of who is and who is not a Forum Moderator or Administrator.

During that thread, Ryan changed his 'title' to reflect his Moderator status, which I found useful, as I hadn't realised he was.
Then today I filtered the user list for Moderators and then for Administrators, simply in order to clarify this for myself. I'm not so sure that all the Moderators are showing up on that filter.

Maybe it would be useful to review the site's filtering or the users settings for Moderators (less so the Administrators)?

My personal 2 pennies is that Moderators should show this on their avatar title.

Ryan was always listed on the index page where it says - under each forum description - "moderated by". As far as I know, nobody with this forum software can have moderator privileges without appearing in the list. On another note, looking through the user groups, I noticed "Lisas" with Lisa Guiliani there. What's that about? :/

Why that? I do not realy see the utility.

Would it give more credibility to their message?

I think it shoul be the decision of the moderator to show it or not.

It is just my thought.

Yeah, like undercover cops...dude we are so like Miami vice.

Not credibility, but context.

Craig, thanks for reminding my about the posts showing who's moderating them, it's something I forgot/overlooked.

I know the software should show all the moderators when you filter the user list, but using Ryan as a for instance, he's shown as a moderator when you filter for administrators, but doesn't show when you filter for moderators. It's just a little bit confusing, I'm not suggesting it poses a large problem, but it is unclear.

I don't think moderators should be prevented from adding to their title some other phrase they like, I just thought the identifier should be there for the same reason that any of the titles exist in the first place....to add a little context to what the user is saying in their comment.

Atreides...does that mean you're all dressing in forum issued pastel sports jackets when you're 'on duty'? ;)

Worth the watch, I enjoyed it thoroughly. A bit long though...

This was a temporary category - created for those few members who have posted in the past and then disappeared from our sight. This was, for instance, to prevent deleting whole threads by third parties. Can be changed later on.
