Climate change visualization sources?

I've been thinking about doing some kind of data visualization on the web using the new SIMILE Timeplot tools:
http://simile.mit.edu/wiki/Timeplot

It would be interesting to combine different datasets and see if it becomes easier to really see what Laura describes in her article "The Younger Dryas Impact Event and the Cycles of Cosmic Catastrophes - Climate Scientists Awakening".

It seems possible to combine not only data into the Timeplot, but also events a la Timeline (http://simile.mit.edu/timeline/), so it should be a good way to really visualize using data what's going on.

But, since I'm not an expert on the data itself, and what would constitute a good selection, I am wondering if anyone has suggestions on what to include? The Timeplot page itself suggests that one could use data from "World Data Center for Paleoclimatology", but it's still hard to know exactly what would make sense to include.

Any ideas?

It looks interesting. Maybe you could use GRIP data - not sure what else - on the timeplot, with historical events from SHOTW/other sources on the timeline. Then display with Exhibit.

The GRIP data is here (NGRIP dating group GICC05 age model, 20 year resolution):

I never got around to do this, but am going to try a restart of this project. The basic idea is to make a SIMILE Exhibit presentation which combines climate data with other historical sources such as SHOTW and Cosmic Winter. If anyone has any good ideas of what kind of data to include in such a presentation to get the message across that would be much appreciated.
