I decided to change up my schedule this morning. Usually my cat alarm goes off around 5:30-6 am, but I am not ready to get up properly for a while yet. I usually feed the cat and then jump back to bed. Today I fed the cat and jumped into my FIR blanket (I am SO glad I finally have one of these things). I did the pots meditation too during this. I showered up, ate breakfast, but still was a little tired so decided to get another 45 minutes of sleep or so.
I had this very vivid dream of being outside on what I believe was the 4th of July (US national holiday). I was prepared to watch fireworks in my parents' backyard, where I just moved from. It was night and then I spotted the comet, which got bigger and bigger, finally lighting up the sky, and then hitting. For some reason I was with my cat and was able to grab him and cover him. There were many aftershocks but it didn't seem to have an immediate effect on our location, just many earthquake-like shocks. I was able to get inside with my cat and then the dream cut to the next part. I am not sure if it was the next day (ie, July 5) but it was definitely a warm time of the year, in the early summer maybe. But it was snowing, and coming down pretty good. My mom was there and expressed some surprise but not the amount of surprise really necessary to the situation. I was trying to keep a calm exterior to be considerate but tried to point out that this was obviously NOT NORMAL. I am not sure if the comet hit had happened yet in this situation.
To me I see this dream as more representative of the stuff going on in the US- we've had the big hit but by and large people don't seem to realize what sort of doo-doo we're in yet. Might take getting buried in snow to realize?
As a side note one of the articles on the sott page was about a UFO sighting during 4th of July fireworks in the town next to one of my colleges, I used to hang out there a lot. It was on my mind for sure when I went to bed, was going to ask if any people I knew who are still up there saw it.
