Continued Digestive Health Improvement...

The Living Force
Thought I'd post about my digestive health since it seems to be improving over time. Oddly enough for the longest time I couldn't digest beef. It gave me stomach/lower abdominal pain and diarrhea, and this was from a pretty young age, though it didn't get annoying enough to cut out the beef until my early twenties. Happy to report that magically, I seem to be able to tolerate it now. I've been on the gluten/dairy free thing without cheating for a little over two months, and prior to that I was doing it with cheating every so often for a few years.

I've also noticed an increase in my poo frequency. I seem to be going once, twice or three times a day depending on what/how much I eat, which i gotta say, is a little strange for me. When I was a kid I would poo once or twice a week, I thought it was normal, but now I think it was due to a lot of bread in my diet. Recently it improved to every other day or every third day, but for the past week or so it's been at least once a day.

Just wanted to make the note and give a big THANK YOU to Laura and the crew, without whom I might not have discovered all the biochemical dietary changes that my body needs in order to function properly.

Great news Puck.

Maybe it's just the nurse in me but it makes me feel good to hear about proper bowel function. :P

I have only been taking the pro-biotics and vitamin, mineral, and extra magnesium and vit. c and I have seen a good change in my digestion as well, after only 2 weeks on the pro-biotics. Much less gut pain, which I have had since I was a teenager, and I thought it was normal most of my life. I used to break out in a cold sweat frequently when I had to go and I always thought everyone did until a couple years ago. I feel better at 50 than I almost ever have.
I am preparing to start the ultra simple diet at the first of the year and I know I have a long way to go. Making small purchases here and there so I have the necessary items to succeed.
Thank you all for openly sharing your challenges here, I think there are many many people like me that have been so used to feeling that gut pain and many other symptoms were just normal that we never questioned. it's just not spoken of except to a Dr. that is always too ready to just prescribe a pill to mask any symptom rather than suggest dietary changes, or heaven forbid "dangerous supplements" or anything that might require one to think for oneself and put personal observation and effort into becoming more healthy. That is if you can even find a physician that believes these things can help.
